“Take the time to read”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

On initial glance the museum is a fizzer...but take the time to read some of the letters of Gandhi and watch the evolution of a nation unfold before you. Well worth the free admission.

“Beautiful Ambiance-Do visit even if you are not interested in history!”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

A grand bungalow with large and well-maintained lawns and shady trees; lots of peacocks around. Kids will love the setting and enjoy themselves in the grounds, though they may find the museum boring, as most of the exhibits are not kid-friendly. For teens and adults, lots of modern Indian history, especially related to Pt JL Nehru. The planetarium is okay, has a good show for kids, though the exhibits are again tacky. There is a canteen (Near the Nehru library) on the left side of the museum (when facing the museum from the front). Run by an NGO, it provides simple food and snacks at reasonable rates.

“Moving Memorial to Nehru”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

The beautiful palace where Nehru, India's statesman and first prime minister, lived. Insights into his life and insights are offered through pictures and displays. Very moving.

“Needs a great deal of presentation”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

I last visited this place 25 years ago! The lawns are maintained but the galleries could do with an upgrade. The place also needs refurbishment with air conditioning etc as it was very hot moving room to room.i can't comment on the planetarium as I didn't go into it. The are plenty of ice cream vendors etc outside but for small kids there didn't seem to be anything inside. Overall the concept is great but needs a great deal of revamp. The visit to the Nehru museum is free
The toilets at the back are crystal clean
