An imposing grand mosque built on the orders of Shah Jahan. It sits in a huge square courtyard that can accommodate some 20,000 worshipers. It is the largest mosque in India. Unfortunately non-muslims are not allowed inside the inner hall, but can still admire the elegant Islamic style of architecture and enjoy the views of Old Dehli from the south side of the square. Modest dress is required to enter, but a covering over-robe can be provided at the entrance - applies to both males and females.
