Rip Off - 300 rupee camera fee at the entrance - we made the mistake of not getting a 'receipt' and they tried to double charge us. The atmosphere of the place seemed very dirty, unwelcome and to be honest - not very pretty/interesting compared to the mosque at Fatepur Sikri - which isn't as big - but very worthy. Save yourself an hour and skip this tourist 'trap!'

HAve visited Jama Masjid many times since early 90's and every time I go there it is surely an experience that allows me to experience the era in which this magnificent mosque was built.

Too many thieves praying on tourists with no supervision and the cops looking the other way taking a piece of the action. A sad situation for a beautiful mosque with a rich history,

I've never been to a mask and was excited when i was going to visit jama masjid. there's no entry fee. but to carry a camera inside the mosque, you've to pay 300 INR even if you're indian, which i feel is atrocious. since i was curious, i paid for the camera anyway! i went inside only to be disappointed. the structure was pretty small, a waste of 300 bucks. it might have been interesting if i could have climbed up the tower, but, unfortunately, one, it was ticketed, 30 per person, two, a guy (brother, dad, whoever) has to be accompanying you. i wasn't very pleased neither with this, not with the bright hot sun. the place was dirty and they didn't have a proper arrangement to avoid your feet getting burnt in the hot sun. also, another important thing, women have to go fully covered - no capris or sleeveless clothes. you've to remove your footwear outside so wear an old pair of shoes/ sandals to avoid having your footwear stolen and when you enter inside, you'll see people holding their footwear in their hand - weird! i was very disappointed.

The ructure is beautiful...In heart of Old delhi, the entire pla gives a feeling of going backto archaic delhi when Mughals reigned....it has a very different feel to it...but the enermous vendors selling cheap stugff in the galis leading to the masjid, sem to create nuisance and all the rikshaws though give ua good feel but creattraffic jams..
