Owner description: This tomb, built in 1570, is of particular cultural significance as it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. It inspired several major architectural innovations, culminating in the construction of the Taj Mahal and many other Mughal architecture and garden complexes in India.

Mughal Emperor Humayun's tomb build during 1565-72 truly represents the grandeur of Indo-Islamic architecture. With the sprawling Charbagh garden of Persian style with running water this place is a real resting place to the man befits.
A must see place at Delhi

This place is very nice but you do not need to spend more than hour there.
It is called "little Taj Mahal".
Actually it resembles the one in Agra but the other one is much more magnificent!
It is worth visiting but just for a short time!

We went in the evening, so it was not crowded. There two tombs , another is actually older than himayun's. Also there are a few stands with archeological information. Nice.

What a place to visit in Delhi. I was born and raised in New Delhi and this place is close to my heart. Mughals ruled Delhi for more than 200-300 years. This place takes you back in time and tells you what the built.

Well-preserved, Unesco world heritage site. Not as heavily marketed as the Taj, but every bit as interesting.
