“Great hotel but small size rooms for a Hyatt and a bit overpriced”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013 via mobile

As an overall experience, the Hyatt Regency Delhi hotel was very good, as you would expect from Hyatt. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and very nice restaurants.

The cafe located at the pool level which offers buffet at dinner time $45 per head, provides high quality food with the best chocolate creme brulee I have ever tasted.

The regency club locatdd on the 6th floor offers a nice complementary breakfast if you hold a diamond Hyatt member status.

Room: at first glimpse the room looks very nice, like most Hyatt rooms; however it is a bit small compared to some of the other Hyatts locations in Asia: like Sydney, Jakarta, Bali, etc.

The bathroom felt a bit too small, OK for solo traveller not so good for couples. It had a dividing glass-wall which did not provide much privacy.

At bed time, you could easily heard doors closing, people talking and even someone flushing the toilet.

Don't take me wrong, the place was very good but when you pay around $300 for a night you expect a bit more.

One of my favourite hotels in Delhi and a delight to stay or just visiting for a meal. The rooms are well appointed. The amenities are just super. Staff is friendly and very caring and they ensure that u are always greeted by a smile. Definitely one of the best hotels in Delhi.

They're not only expensive, they raid you at the restaurants and also charge you for parking your vehicle (which by the way is terrible service). I woke up twice this morning because of traffic. That wasnt all. Driver pulled up with my brand new car smelling like rotten meet and this is not the first time its happened. An apology is next to impossible to get. Don't ever go there!

I had checked into this hotel in a business group on 18/09/13 and was given room number 790 which happened to be of superior category located on the club floor. The check in was not all that smooth and the lobby lacked that star feeling due to low height. The room keys given looked more like an old dirty white visiting card. It did not have any pictures/text of the property. The most irritating part was that to enter the rooms, you are supposed to press a red button to activate a red light and then touch the room card. I found this very annoying as no where this process was mentioned and I had to fiddle with the entry for about 15 minutes as I was unaware of this system which I have never come across ever. Due to some error my room card was not properly activated and I had to come down again to the lobby and get it activated again. There was no house phone or person available nearby my room who could help me out with it. The room was pretty small for a club class category. The coffee maker was very awkwardly located inside the drawer below the television. You are supposed to take the coffee maker out of the box located at a very uncomfortable height, place it on the panel above, plug in to the socket and reverse the entire process to pack it back. Very unlikely for a room from the HYATT group. The working desk only had 2 plug point out of which one was used by the lamp. Very unlikely proposition considering todays traveller carrying laptop, tab & 2 mobiles. The bathroom was small and had a small tub on one corner in which you could only fit with your legs folded. The buffet breakfast spread was very basic with most of the items looking like packed food like the ones available in airlines. Overall I never expected so many flaws from a group like Hyatt.

After traveling from Agra, Jaipur we arrived in New Delhi for our Conference. We checked into the Hyatt Regency.
We had a small hassle on checking in, this was eventually resolved.
The Hyatt is very welcoming and the staff are attentive, the room was o.k. smaller than the 4 stars we had been staying in prior to the Hyatt. Our first breakfast was also a hassle, once again sorted and no harm done. Food was beautiful, all our meals were catered for by the Conference, we had a mix of Vegetarian, non-Vegetarian and Vegetarian no onion, no garlic. The Chef handled this with ease.
Pool area was very relaxing as was the spa, sauna and steam room.
All in all this was a lovely ending to a rather hectic trip. Thank you to all the staff etc who made our stay a pleasant one.

I stayed 5 days in September with my husband. Room was super clean and had lots of shelves, electric outlets and drawers. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is spacious with separate bath and shower. Internet works really great - free and fast in every room (no need to buy upgrade). Hyatt Regency has excellent pool and gym facilities, too. Gym had lots of nice machines and the steam sauna and whirlpool was very nice. It is open from 6 or 7 am to 10 pm. My friend went to Yoga class in the morning (for a charge) but I didn't know they offered it. I wish they advertised it more clearly. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Homemade yogurt, excellent variety of Indian food, and Western food were all great. When they have a convention, it gets very crowded. If you prefer just a light and quick breakfast, there is a cafe where you can buy bagel, croissant, sandwich, etc. The location is not so great as it is on Ring Road that skirts the city center proper, and you have to take taxi to go to the nearest subway station which takes more than 10 minutes in rush hour. But the fare is cheap ($2-$3) it still worth the money. For pickup service from the airport, you can just use a prepaid local taxi instead of arranging with the hotel, and save enough for a nce massage or spa treatment! As New Delhi airport is now very organized, you won't go through a hassle negotiating with taxi drivers. All in all, I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency when in Delhi!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool is quieter than the ones facing the street.
