I've been traveling from the US & staying at this property one time/year since 2013. for years this really was my favorite hotel knowing (from 2013) that this was not the most luxurious hotel in town. I fell for the the old school/new school feel; kind of a "beverly Hilton" of Delhi appeal....But the place has not been looked after. Safe to say the rooms need updating, the hallways have that "damp" scent of mid-range india hotels. I believe the property managers think the rooms offer classic architecture; noi, it's "dated..." Bathrooms are not a sanctuary; first thought looking at the bathrooms is, I need a tetanus shot after exiting...yes, this is the norm for low/mid-range hotels round town, but not the taj standard I've grown to expect.
The property is getting a little tired &, honestly, the thing that pushed me over the edge to write a new review as just an average hotel is the lack of warmth of the staff. from what i remember from my stays years ago, the staff was overly warm & attentive, I'm sure back then, these were traits learned/injected into the staff, but now it feels "forced and cold." I know Taj Hotels as a brand is capable of more than what the staff & property are at this moment; do more...More
