Le Meridien New Delhi
Ranked #17 of 712 Hotels in New Delhi

Le Meridien New Dehli is a nice hotel with a couple of strange deals for this Western tourist. The road security is good. The check in is good. All the people you interact with are very friendly. The lobby/restaurant area is light and spacious. The room is good. Good bed, shower, general layout etc. The breakfast at the restaurant is very nice. Many selections lots of food both Indian and Western. Myself I am in India so I enjoyed the Indian food. Something else I liked. I stayed at this hotel more than once during my trip and the automatically upgraded me to a higher floor on my next stay. Nice touch considering I did not ask for it. Now the two strange deals. This being a five star hotel you would think internet would be free. It is not. Next strange deal. There is a thermostat on the wall which you can adjust up or down. But regardless what you do the room temperature stays the same. Bottom line no way to adjust your room temperature. These things are not a deal killer and every hotel I stayed at in India pulled the same bait and switch. Just want to put it out there as it is the current reality. Enjoy.

I have stayed couple of times at this hotel and being SPG member have got good reception always. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast has good selection for vegetarians. The service is extra prompt in club floors and enjoyed club in the evenings. Little concern is about slow wifi connectivity which should be faster even if basic plan is chosen. Being a very small thing these days when wifi is provided free everywhere, you should not be asked to upgrade the wifi package for better connectivity.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking pool gets lot of sun and gets heated during summer.

Location – The hotel is certainly nestled into the upmarket green district of New Delhi close to Parliament House , Presidential Palace; Indian Gate & Connaught Place.

At times coming back from a day's excursion from the heart of New Delhi to the Le Meridian Hotel one could easily think your visiting another country.

Room – We booked a corner suite 822 which had an impressive leafy view over the city with excellent views of the India Gate.

The suite had a spacious lounge room with an attached small kitchenette, large plasma TV & dining table.

The bedroom was again very spacious with floor to ceiling glass windows which overlooked the leafy backdrop & the India Gate. Wireless High Speed Internet Access was also supplied.

The bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower, modern bathtub, & a good quality makeup vanity unit. The only problem we had was the shower continually filled up with water as the plug kept getting blocked.

Facilities – The hotel is massive & at times gets incredibly busy. There is a swimming pool which looked rather ordinary due to lack of imagination. The gym had all the modern equipment one needs for a workout.

Restaurants – We dined in this hotel most nights due to us not wanting to venture out again into the traffic. The rooftop Chinese restaurant ; although pricey is excellent especially taking in the sweeping district views of New Delhi.

Henri's Bar located on the 20th floor next door to the Chinese is fabulous if one just wants to take in the sights. There is also another elegant bar called Nero’s which is located on the lobby floor which offered an intimate atmosphere.

Monsoon restaurant is definitely a Must Do if visiting New Delhi. We found the restaurant to offer fabulous Indian cuisine.

The café located on the lobby level was terrific too especially if one is hanging out for a good quality cappuccino !

Breakfast – Offered a varied selection of Indian & Western food. It certainly wasn't one of the best we have had but it was definitely up to standard.

Club Floor – excellent for canapés & free drinks especially if you take in the cost of how much a glass of wine is in India.

Staff – We found all staff to be friendly & efficient.

Overall – We would stay here again as the location was lovely especially after a hard day exploring the sights of New Delhi. We had a very comfortable stay & would recommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Corner suites to take in the views of the India Gate.

Tranquil in what can be a very chaotic city at times. Staff are very helpful - rooms were great and cant really fault anything. Expensive yes but value as well (those city taxes of nearly 20%) Breakfast was good and needs to be tried ! Plenty of complimentary bottled water in room also very welcome.

Room Tip: High rooms are best

Stayed once again recently, firstly the location. It is located in Heart of Delhi, close to Connaught place, Janpath, India Gate etc. Friendly staff, excellent service, prompt housekeeping and room service. Very good breakfast. The top 20 floor restaurant has outstanding views of Delhi. Rooms are fairly decent with all modern amenities including rain shower etc. Would definately recommend this hotel. Request for higher floor for better view.

Room Tip: Higher floors for better views of Delhi.

I had been to Le Meridian last week to attend a conference, and stayed there for a night.
The location is fabulous, in the heart of this huge city, showcasing the best that Delhi has to offer with views overlooking india gate and other prominent landmarks of the city.
The rooms were good and equipped with all modern amenities. The bathroom is not very large but manageable.
We had all meals at the hotel, and i must say the taste was much above the average star hotels. Quite delicious and a large enough spread, so food is a definite plus point.
The service also was exceptional, very prompt and smart staff.
The event also went well, good huge hall and well executed.
It's a good 5 star hotel in the capital, true to its name.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are quieter with better view.
