5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2011

The Eros Hotel is an excellent hotel with real 5 star service. it is a real oasis in the surrounding area.
The staff are excellent. Certainly one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The Metro is next door which is a convenient method of getting around Delhi, certainly beats the lunatic traffic on the roads.

Very good hotel, conveniently located next to the Metro & with good views of the Bahai temple from pool facing rooms. We stayed in 3 different rooms at different parts of our trip and they were all very good sized, clean & comfortable. There was a wedding reception with music in the gardens one night, but on calling the reception, action was immediately taken and the noise stopped. Breakfast buffet was very good, with lots of freshly cooked options.

Dinner at the Singh Sahib restaurant was very average and over priced.

I was meeting my closest friend after 3 years in New Delhi and wanted to make sure we were at a good hotel, one where we could catch up comfortably and one which would also allow two history buffs to sight-see some one the monuments around this very ancient city.

I booked this hotel with skepticism : first the name “Eros, managed by Hilton” – whatever does that mean ? (turns out the property is owned by an Indian property company called Eros and run by Hilton); and as some of the reviews were decidedly dodgy. But wow – am truly impressed at their service levels. The hotel is located very conveniently in S Delhi and is roughly 45 mins (keeping Delhi traffic in mind) from the airport. As had informed the hotel of my agenda and my specifications, they pulled out all the stops to assist. From a call by Nikhil C to check on my transportation needs even before I left Germany, to a very efficient check-in by Sneha, to being upgraded onto the executive floor, across the hall from each other (such a thoughtful gesture), to being allowed a somewhat late check-out, this hotel pulled out all the stops to make our stay delightful. Nikhil specifically was there to meet both myself and my friend, understand our sight-seeing needs and customize our agenda. We chose to hire the hotel car to visit Delhi’s Old Fort and Humayun’s Tomb and we were given a very nice and comfortable vehicle with a very good driver.

Strengths ? Great customer service (have you noticed how the GM responds to every review posted), very nice rooms on the Executive Floor (I clock in 20-25 nights in hotels annually and I slept better than I have in most hotels), good cars … overall, just left us a feeling of being special and cared for.

Improvement areas ? Food is ok-ish (though their breakfast spread is excellent) – their in-room dining and Empress of China restaurant food was decent but not gourmet. But here’s what I mean about the service – moment the person serving noticed we weren’t finishing the squid, the chef and the restaurant manager came to ask what was wrong and if they could prepare another dish. Their restaurants do get plentiful traffic (always > half full whenever I checked) so it may just be that my friend and I had more discerning palates. Am told the Indian is better.

How does this go beyond bla bla ? I will for sure stay in this hotel if / when back in Delhi. And as am in London next week, have opted to stay at a Hilton property, not usually my first option. After this Hilton experience, want to give the chain a shot.

Room Tip: Executive rooms were classy !!! Share with the hotel staff what your needs / wishes are - they wil...

Stayed at the Eros hotel for a day and a half in early December. It is very conveniently located for visitors to Delhi, whether for business or leisure. The room was very comfortable with all the conveniences one would expect of a high-end hotel. I particularly liked the coffee maker (like a Keurig). I used the laundry services and was pleased. My one criticism would be that the shower doesn't have an overhead so that you have to hold it in your hand. And I wish there was a door or curtain rather than the half-door. But all that's minor stuff.

The grounds and pool look very nice too. The breakfast on the ground floor is extensive and of very high quality -- I ate well each morning. The executive level is comfortable for reading a paper but isn't very fancy. I also appreciated the pre-arrival contact from the manager and the arrangement of a complimentary pick-up at Delhi's T3.

All in all, a very good stay and I'd go back when next in Delhi.

The hotel is centrally located, has a very good pool and gym. The food is little on the "okay" side but then its much better compared to other places close by. There is a metro station just behind the hotel that gives easy access to most places in Delhi if you want to travel as a common man.

Breat breakfast. The open space beside the swimming pool is great. Rooms require face uplifting. Food in the Singh Sahib with Indian songs is simply great. Service at the reception for registration and billing is very slow.

Room Tip: Take the swimming side rooms.
