I had booked a table at the Zaffran for an extended family dinner recently. This was my first visit to this restaurant.

It's location is great, with ample car parking space available around it. You need to take a small lift to the 2nd floor to reach the restaurant as you pass by a neat reception desk.

The place is not very big but cosy, the ambience is really good and the up-keep fantastic. The tables near the glass wall provide you with a wide-angle view of the only-one-of-its-kind panoramic CP market place.

You have a choice of asking for RO-water or bottled water, as you may prefer. The upholstery and cutlery used was good, clean, neat.

We had starters and liked their Dahi-Ke-Kebabs very much. For main course we had several dishes and liked their Paneer Kundan and Pindi Chana very much - almost delicious. But what literally stole our heart away was their breads. We tried a whole of them - Tandoori Roti, Khasta Roti, Butter Nan, Lachha Parantha, Onion Kulcha, Paneer Kulcha and each and every type of bread was simply perfect. Breads are a very integral part of any Indian mughlai dinner anywhere but the ones we had here were outstanding - really fresh, tastefully done and almost perfect. I have not had breads of such quality at any other restaurant in years.

The service was perfect. Sufficient waiters, very attentive, very prompt - ensured that we never waited long for anything and really assisted us in making good choices from the menu as well as portion sizes. That really helped.

The floor manager Mr. Khanna had made all reservation arrangements beautifully ensuring that each and every one of our guests enjoyed their meal to the fullest.

For those who are keen, the restaurant has a small but full service bar stocking excellent quality liquor choices.

I would highly recommend Zaffran to anyone looking for a classy dinner place, especially for Mughlai Food because that is what we tried and simply loved it.

When in CP, do check this place out.

We ate here in March 2014 upon the recommendation of the concierge at Lalit Hotel. This is a fine Indian restaurant in Connaught Place. It's hooked up with a hotel and you take an elevator from the street level up to the hotel lobby and restaurant. The interior is a bit dark, but the food was very good. The service was efficient. When we were there, the restaurant was crowded and it was about a 10 minute wait to get a table. (Note: this was on a Saturday night).

As others have written, this is a good choice for eating in Delhi @ Connaught Place.

I stayed at the Hotel Palace Heights for 4 nights while visiting Delhi. Breakfast was served in Zaffran each morning and it was excellent as was the service. I had dinner there as well and was also impressed. You will not go wrong eating here and it is really convenient if staying at the Palace Heights.

Gives Khan Chacha a good run for his money. Largely, everything on the menu is good. Go early to get place!
