Serene Delhi is conveniently located in Hauz Khas, which is a great part of Delhi to be in. The rooms are lovely and clean with ensuite bathroom.
The best part of my stay here was actually the assistance provided by the host, Drew. He could not have been nicer! I arrived having not had a chance to plan what I wanted to do whilst in Delhi and Drew actually wrote an itinerary for me, writing out places to go as well as the best ways to travel there. He helped me to book train tickets to go to Agra for the day also so that I could visit the Taj Mahal. His advise was fantastic and thanks to his wonderful planning abilities I had a wonderful time in Delhi.
Serene Delhi also offers to cook for you and the food is really wonderful - I can't recommend it enough!

I spent 2 months staying at Serene in Hauz Khas over the summer. It was a very comfortable, spacious, clean place to stay with helpful staff and a friendly guesthouse owner, Dhruv. It is located in what felt like one of the safest, cleanest areas of Delhi and is really close to shops and restaurants, and only a 5 minute walk to the metro. It is also only a 10 minute walk from Hauz Khas Village, a trendy area full of quite expensive but fun bars, clubs and restaurants.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review.

However, in your rating with regards value in terms of price paid for the standard of accommodation offered, I certainly believe, you will not find comparable level of accommodation like Serene, Delhi, which is in an upscale, central and safe area of the city. For GBP 8.77 or USD 13.65 per night (inclusive of taxes), you most definitely will not get a clean, tidy and fairly spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom with 24 hours hot and cold running water, 24 hours air condition (which running constantly in the summer months.....the months you stayed....is very high on power consumption), attendants on call, complimentary tea, coffee, mineral water and an unlimited / complimentary use of a fast and reliable wifi service. Of prime importance is the guests security and as stated earlier, just the fact of being located in an affluent area of the city, for a single and young female traveller, "price" should and must not be a deterrent. For GBP 8.77 a night, I do believe the ambiance and the overall look and feel of the kind of accommodation offered at Serene, Delhi for this particular guest IS AN ABSOLUTE STEAL !!

Best,

Dhruv Puri

I stayed here for a few days. Dhruv was very helpful and the staff are great. My room was homey and comfortable. The water was hot and the place was very clean. Breakfast was very nice too. I'd certainly stay here again in the future. One thing to keep in mind is that it is difficult to find. People in the neighborhood have a very hard time finding it. Make sure to get very clear directions.

Location: Serene is located on the edge of Hauz Khas market. There is a metro within 10-15 min walking distance and is a 10 min auto ride to HK village. The house is in a quite and very safe neighborhood with accessibility to food, etc very nearby.
Service: Definitely the most pleasant part of Serene is the staff. The owner- Dhruv- is extremely accessible and helpful with any type of problem you have. The staff is very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive as can be the case in guesthouses.
Amenities: All the advertised amenities are in proper condition- hot water, sat tv, wifi. The rooms are very nicely decorated and newly renovated, with plenty of space and storage ability. Also comes with an excellent breakfast!
Cleanliness: spotless
Value: I would say this is an excellent choice if you are looking to stay in the South of Delhi. You will be safe, well taken care of, and able to relax.

I spent a little over a month at Serene and was well taken care of by the staff and owner. The location is great, the rooms are very clean, and the amenities (chai, hot showers, western toilet, A/C, laundry service) made it a relaxing place to return home to after a stressful day. Dhruv was eager to resolve any problems -- he had a broken lock on my room's wardrobe fixed within a day of telling him. Would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Delhi.

Serene Guest House is very well situated - less than 10 minutes walk to the Green Park metro station and walkable to lots of eateries and even Hauz Khas Village. The amenities are also good. It is essentially a regular 4-bedroom flat that has been converted into a guest house. For people who like to make their own food, there is a kitchen and although I never used it, I bet you could. The rooms with private bathrooms are spacious and are equipped with AC, geysers, and TV. There is also WiFi although it can be a bit slow sometimes. The owner of the guest house was not in Delhi for most of my stay but he is very helpful. He put me in touch with his broker to help me find permanent accommodation in Delhi. The service in the guest house is also very good - the attendant was very nice and made a tasty breakfast every morning. Overall, it's a great place, and I would highly recommend it to people in Delhi both for business and for tourism! Tourists, stay here over any place in Old Delhi.

I stayed here for about 10 days, and was overall very impressed. Dhruv, the owner, happened to not be there during my stay, but went out of his way to be helpful, and was very accessible by phone and email. For potential fellow foreigners traveling, the attendants do not speak much English, but are very nice and attentive, and again, Dhruv is quite helpful. The place is well-furnished and has good AC and fast wifi. The location in Hauz Khas is nice although somewhat difficult to find in a gated residential area off Sri Aurobindo Marg, so I highly recommend arranging an airport pickup if you don't know the area and/or can't speak a local language. In any case, I would confirm with the owner ahead of time the address. The location is right next to Hauz Khas market which has plenty of shops and things for basic necessities. It's maybe a 10 minute walk from the Green Park metro station and 15 minutes from the Hauz Khas station, and maybe a 30 minute walk to Hauz Khas Village. The neighborhood is pretty quiet and felt safe. Overall a great location for those here working in South Delhi.

Overall, this is probably the best place I stayed in in my 2 months in India other than some high-end hotels that were 3 times the price. Serene Delhi offers an excellent value for any traveller, I hope to stay again when I return, and I heartily recommend it to anyone
