We stayed at Serene for 3 nights last week.

Dhruv arranged airport pick up for us on request, which was appreciated as all taxi drivers and auto rickshaw drivers seem to get lost finding Serene at Z-17. It is an apartment in a residential street without any signs so don't be looking for a hotel-type property. It is very quiet at night, so we made sure we were back at Serene before dark every evening.

Green Park station is at least a 15 minute walk away. Hauz Khas is a quaint village (which we found to be overrated) an auto rickshaw ride away.

Serene is not ideal if you want to be central and a quick walk to shops / restaurants / bank for basic necessities, but it is a good base for daily excursions if you only intend to use it to come back and crash out. Due to locality we could not get orange juice for breakfast the next morning when we asked the staff around 5pm. Breakfast was good and basic. Dinner provided to order was generous and tasty with Birinder making lovely hot chapattis for you straight off the pan to your plate. Be prepared to share the lounge and dining table with guests in the other two rooms.

The staff make your stay very comfortable. The rooms are clean. The shower in the room we had consisted of a cold dribble on our first day, for the other days it was okay. The shower room itself is adequate, not immaculate. You would have to judge reviews for the other rooms for shower consistency.

Serene would be great for a group of travellers, it'd be like having your own apartment to relax in with a full kitchen facility with your friends.

The other thing is that it was FREEZING COLD in the evenings, night and mornings when we were there at the end of January. Indian homes are not geared for winter AT ALL. Serene had tall ceilings, marble floors and was open plan with no double glazing or heating and it was about 5-8C at night! That as well as location is the only reason why I don't rate this property full marks. The small electric heater in our room with one red rod working did not do the job, we were provided with an extra blanket on request. Slept with layers of clothes and my cardigan on! A small investment in fan heaters would be effective. It was an extremely cold place to come back to in the evenings and we dreaded getting undressed to shower up each morning, it was proper BBBRRRRRR! and that was compared to the snow we experienced in London just before we arrived, check night time temperatures in Delhi before you book because there is no such thing as central heating.

Our used grey (were white) towels were dried in the day and put back in your room, which is a good way to save the planet. Beds were made up everyday.

There were also barking dogs on the streets at night which seem to be a compulsory feature in Delhi (take ear plugs!)

There was not a safe in the room, just a key to a built in wardrobe door. But we felt our gadgets were perfectly safe locked away, but not sure our insurance policy would covered them should anything happen. We used to take our room key out with us in the day, but I am sure they would have a spare anyway.

We moved to Park Residency after negotiating a favourable and comparable rate with them so that we could enjoy hotel features together with the flexibility of having privacy, avoiding personal inquisitions, security, a decent High Street for our bare essentials, a taxi rank and Green Park metro train station within a 5 minute walk.

Serene is a nice secluded base for the active to explore by car and value for money.

Room Tip: One of the two set back from the street

Decided to stay at Serene on the recommendation of a friend. I was concerned about being in "South Delhi" and too far away from the city. Those fears were unwarranted (we were an easy 10 minute walk and 20 minute subway ride to most major sights). What we got in return was a little bit of peace and quiet, good breakfast and great advice and assistance from Dhruv the proprietor. Strongly recommend this place, especially if its your first time in Delhi.

We found out about the place through a local friend. After a horrible train delay SereneDelhi truly felt like home to us. spacious room, running hot water, free wi-fi tastful chai and heater!!. We had our first good night sleep there.

We stayed there for four nights and the staff were really nice though they don't speak much English. We were able to get around Hauz Khas easily without paying too much for Tuk-tuk.

We definitely will recommend Serene Delhi to our friends

Excellent spacious rooms, with tv and bathroom, very clean and confortable. The staff is really helpful and ready to give a hand all the time. They prepare you a great breakfast when you wake up :-)
It's located next to a small commercial zone, very handy! Would recommended this to friends!

We picked this place based on the reviews on Tripadvisor and this place exceeded our expectations. We requested in advance to Dhruv (owner) to have transportation arranged for us at a reasonable price. From being picked up from train stations, airport to having a taxi with driver for 8 hours. He gave us goof advise as far as what to do in Delhi depending on our desired activity. Whereas is shopping or sightseeing. Needless to say he knows the cool stuff.
Serene Delhi in Hauz Khas is located very conveniently for us travelers as we can reach nice places from there. Cannaught Place, India Gate, et cetera. It is also located close to Hauz Khas village where one will find nice places to eat and cool boutiques as well. The place is clean. There is WiFi. Beds are nice to sleep in. His crew is very agreeable and kind. The breakfast is yum yum. There is a balcony where you will find a ashtray if you fancy a smoke. Delhi has been quite cold this January 2013 but we were never cold there.
We stayed a total of six nights in two an one night at the time as we used it as home base. Going back there after visiting other cities felt like going back to a place where we were welcomed :)
I will recommend this place to any of my friends.

Room Tip: There is a king size bedroom with the choice of having an extra bed added for a price. And another room with two twin beds and and extra bed can be added as well. All the rooms are nice. There is a third one but I did not check it out.
