“An excellent place while on Transit in New Delhi”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

its one of the best place if you would like to look for an option to stay if you have a huge layover between two flights in New Delhi. I reached from Bhubaneshwar in the afternoon and had an early morning flight the next day - in Delhi the good hotels were far too expensive while the others were budget types. Commuting is also an issue to hotels outside the airport - ubless the hotel provides pickup and drop. I read about this transit hotel (Eaton Smart) and made a booking - it was sheer surprise for me since I never expected such a warm reception and great service by the hotel staff.

My son was traveling from Kochi to Kathmandu, Nepal as a volunteer and had an 8 1/2 layover in Delhi. As a transit, this airport is very confusing...especially for an inexperience, young traveler. You can only enter departing terminal a certain number of hours prior to your flight...and can only remain in your arrival terminal for a certain period of time...many security and check points to enter, etc. Thanks to Eaton Smart hotel, his layover was smooth and easy. Once he deboarded his plane the hotel representative was standing there holding his name and guided him through all the confusion, through security, and delivered him straight to the hotel. They also walked him straight to check-in for his flight the next morning. He would have been overwhelmed without Eaton Smart's assistance. I am very thankful for their help. My son said the room was nice, modern, very clean and comfortable. The shower was great with plenty of hot water. Like others have said, the TV was a bit confusing but he called the front desk and within minutes someone was there to show him how to work it. After an exhausting day, he was able to rest, watch ESPN, and get a few hours of much needed sleep before his early flight.
Now, you have to do your research before booking. It is confusing to know which wing to book international or domestic? My son flew in domestic and out international so it was not clear on the website where to book. Also, you have to be flying in/out of terminal 3 was my understanding.
Tip*--On the website there you can click on where it says "book by phone". It gives a list of 800 #'s to call. We called the 1-800 number and gave reservations our information to find out which wing to book and they told us domestic. They can also answer any questions you may have. If you book over the phone, you must book the room for a full night. If you book online, you can book by the hour and also give your flight info for a representative to pick you up. Good to email as a reminder for pick up as well. OR you can call the hotel directly.

''Restaurant'' meals very ordinary. Coffee terrible. Service minimal with grumpy staff.
CompIicated and slow system just to get into hotel, and poorly signed (there aren't any!!)
Reception staff pleasant. Service poor. No room service so went to reception and requested 2 bottles of water...they never arrived.
Morning of flight I had requested wake-p call at 4:10. Apparently I didn't hear the phone, so they made another call, but not until 4:50!!!!!!! Nearly missed my plane.
$200/night is expensive for what is offered. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. TV didn't have good selection for international travelers. Room lighting complex and poor.

Never got to the hotel because no airport employee knew of it much less where it was located, got sent to the Domestic terminal since we were in transit (but then we couldn't get back to the Internation terminal which is the location of the Domesitc Wing of the hotel (who knew?). Eaton staff later told me that they would have met us if they had our flight info? Yet I filled out all info requested by Eaton website, and now no refund or response to my request for past 2 weeks.

For those in transilt, there is the cheaper Plaza Hotel at both Internantional and Domestic terminals--ground level--where you can rent a small room, get a shower, etc. Well worth it.

We stayed at this hotel for a few hours (January 2013), while in transit from a domestic to an international flight. It was worth the cost, as we had a chance to have a good rest. The rooms are very good, great shower and great bed. The only problem was reaching the hotel, as you have to telephone them to send someone to pick you up, within the airport, as it is difficult to find your way around, at least for us, having arrived on a domestic flight at another Terminal. We also could not get into the Terminal (and, therefore, to the hotel) until 6 hours before our flight.

Our early morning international flight was delayed for five hours and with the family, we had no option but to spend the night at the airport. We proceeded to the hotel after completing airline check-in and immigration. The tariff for a 5 hour block seemed quite expensive (125USD) but the check in was quick. At the check-in, I found that the hotel is a part of Langham group of hotels as they were promoting their 1865 Club membership. Being already an elite member of their club 1865, I gave the receptionist my membership number but she didn't know what to do with it! So much for the membership! Eventually, we were shown to our studio room which was clean and adequately furnished though quite small. But there was no noise filtering in from the surrounding airport area. I expected a complimentary wireless connection in such a transit hotel but that was not the case. I was charged a fee though quite nominal (5USD for 2 hours). Unfortunately their wireless didn't work and I needed to use the internet to alter my hotel bookings because of the flight delay. The receptionist then allowed me free use of their Business Centre but it was tiresome to trudge along long dark corridors at 2am in the night leaving the comfort of your room. Checkout was a breeze but we had to go through a security screening before leaving the hotel and our hand luggage was screened through an X-Ray machine. But it was nice to just check out and board the plane all in a matter of minutes. Overall, a decent hotel but overpriced.

I booked this Hotel for convenience as we had an overnight layover before continuing from Delhi to Kathmandu. I expected nothing more than a low-end hotel. On the contrary, it was a fortunate choice. We were met by a hotel rep as we deplaned, he took us through India Immigration and Customs bypassing long lines, he collected our luggage and brought us directly to our room which was clean and neat. The included breakfast was NOT the usual 2nd rate buffet but a cooked to order breakfast that was delicious. The hotel rep then escorted us through the check-in process for our next flight, through immigration, and right to the departure gate. INCREDIBLE Customer Service.
