Stay at BnB@ Reens if you want to experience real north Indian hospitality and cooking. Situated in Model Town far from the madding crowd of the tourist centres but only 5 minutes walk from the metro station. Chandni Chowk (Red Fort, etc) is only about 15 minutes away.

The accommodation consists of two bedrooms (rented separately) and a shared lounge with TV and access to a collection of Indian DVDs. Mr Reen will INSIST that you watch one - take his advice. The bedrooms are comfortable with each having its own en suite facilities. There is a kitchen which you can use if you feel the need. WiFi available on request at a small charge.

A highlight of your stay will be taking breakfast en famille. This is your opportunity to have a good chat to Mr Reen who is an educated, travelled and urbane figure. His sister supervises in the kitchen and is also a charming person. Breakfast is either western or north Indian but don't miss the stuffed parathas.

Whilst here, my wife fell ill and needed a day's rest. Nothing was too much trouble and she was watched over most carefully.

There is a good selection of restaurants about 10 minutes walk down the road; ATMs and so on in the same area. One tip - the taxi fare from Old Delhi station would be about Rs. 250 - don't get ripped off the way we were.
