Far surpassing a B&B experience in Delhi, gourmet food amidst the swaying tree tops of Hauz Khas in south Delhi was an idyllic setting for a European couple on a post retirement trip to India. An ex-colleague of mine decided to visit India but this time bring his wife. They refused to stay with me and prefered being on their own but didnt want the impersonal touch of a hotel. Tree Tops surpasses all expectations for them. Tannie's cooking was a dream come true for the wife who is not very adventurous about eating. It wasnt just the great meals. What she loved most was being able to learn how to cook what she liked ... that way she claims she carried home lasting memories that could be re-lived with an afternoon in her own kitchen back home. The husband, retired as a senior manager with a large MNC, retains a youthful curiosity about life. For him, an evening drink was always more than just one because he found the company of Murad with his vast experience of life fascinating. These visitors cut down their out of Delhi time to a weekend in Jaipur and a quick day trip to Jaipur. They vastly enjoyed their time in India and promise to return next year ... but only if they can stay with their "Gourmet Couple". Now that's an accolade if i ever heard one!
