“A great place to stay”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Located in the residential area of Saket in New Delhi, Tree of Life is is a great place to stay : the metro is close, the area is calm, the rooms are comfortable and very clean, the Wi-Fi works well and a computer is available in the dining-room. A shopping mall called Slect City is in near to make urgent purchase.
Extra bed can be put in the room (we were travelling with two young kids).
Ashwani is very helpful, friendly and patient, always ready to give advice and assitance. It seems it's the culture of all the people of that place like Raju, an attendant present during night time.
I will definitely go to the same place if I were to go to New Delhi again.

Room Tip: Three rooms are located in the same floor where the dinig room is (1st floor).

Apart from being amazingly clean and cozy, the service is amazing. Ashwani and his wife are great people. It is a very convenient place to stay since it is close to the Saket, gate 3 metro station. I definitely recommend it and will surely stay there next time I am in Delhi.

Room Tip: Book in advance!

Tree of life is an unpretentious but very comfortable and highly service-oriented B&B in Delhi. It does well on various counts.
Firstly, it is value for money, because it is centrally located and is in close proximity to the Saket metro station which brings Connaught Place within 20 minutes train journey. It is also close to the PVR Complex and within a short commuting distance by car to Select City Walk Mall.
Secondly, the quality of service is very good. The B&B strives to give the best service. The rooms are very neat and clean and fairly well-maintained. The main reason why this stands out is that the owner, Mr Ashwani and his staff, Krishna, Raju and Om are willing to go the extra mile to make guests comfortable. Mr Ashwani even gives suggestions for local sight-seeing : he even drew up the itinerary for a 3 day tour of Delhi.
Although Mr Ashwani also runs a taxi service, it is not thrust on the guests. Similarly for food, although it is prepared in the guest house (lunch and dinner) on request, they are equally willing to place an order and get food from nearby restaurants for which they hold the menu cards.
No frills, no toiletries, no mini-bar but this does not in any way make the stay less comfortable. The staff makes tea whenever requested and lay it nicely in a tray, complete with tray cloth, flask, sugar, milk pot: gives a homely feeling.
In addition to the decent sized room, there is a common living room/lounge where one can sit down and relax. Hot water is available in the washroom any time. The AC is good. The beds are just right and for the extra warmth, there is a soft white razai which can be pulled out if required from the cupboard. Wi-fi is also available in the rooms at a reasonable speed and is included in the room rate (unlike many hotels which give only 30 minutes complimentary in the rooms).
In fact, the B&B was undergoing further renovation and refurbishment in summer and is only likely to get much better.
All in all, an excellent place to stay in for comfort, safety, price and quality.

A group of us stayed at the Tree of Life after a 5 week trip to East India. Ashwani was the perfect host. His English is excellent and he was kind, friendly, and patient.

The Tree of Life is in a quiet area of Delhi, with plentiful shopping, restaurants, and easy Metro access. We chose to have dinner at the inn. It was delicious, and the price was right. My bed had clean, soft white sheets and was comfortable, especially after sleeping in hard beds for weeks. It was pure pleasure staying at the Tree of Life. It was clean, safe, and comfortable. Wifi was strong. When I return to Delhi. I will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Tree of Life from June 30 to July 3rd, we had a wonderful experience with Mr. Ashwani and his staff, the hospitality was great, Mr. Ashwani even helped us out by taking a parcel to the post office for us and arrange a city tour and a tour of the Taj Mahal. If we even go to New Delhi I would stay here again. We also enjoyed meeting other people at the bed and breakfast from the different parts of India as well from different places in the world.

Delhi, like most capital cities, can be extremely expensive. Backpackers might head for Paharganj, where hostel accommodation can be had for next to nothing - but, of course, for next to nothing you'll get next to nothing! Us oldies preferred to go for a homestay (bed and breakfast) and we found a very good one indeed - the Tree of Life!

It's well situated within a five-minute stroll of a Metro station in the quiet residential Saket area of the city. Bedrooms are on the middle two floors of a modern four-storey apartment building served by lift.

The friendly, young, English-speaking owner, Ashwani, lives with his family on the top floor and is usually available within a few minutes to provide information or assistance. Two efficient young men provide luggage handling, breakfast and room maintenance services.

The rooms are clean, well-furnished and have exceptionally good bathrooms, including showers that top-class hotels would be proud of. There's free WiFi too.

Rates (March 2013) per night for bed and breakfast, were a very reasonable Rs.4,500 (£55/US$85/€65) for a double room or Rs.4,000 (£49/US$75/€57) for single occupancy.

Highly recommended.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are completely modern and clean. Best shower in Delhi. Love the location. 1 minute walk to the movie theatre and excellent thai massage parlor. The breakfast has something for everyone... cereals, eggs, toast, fresh fruit, chai, etc. The owner is there to ensure everything is up to his expectations, which really makes the place run smoothly. We'll be back
