We stayed at Hotel Le Roi during a four day stop in New Delhi earlier this year and found this to be a good option for those wanting to a place in the Paharganj area and in need of more comforts than are normally provided in backpacker style accommodations.

In general, we were pleased with the hotel staff and services. They were attentive and accomodating at all times. Front desk was able to provide currency exchange, transportation arrangements and luggage storage as well. Further, they helped us with the TV when we were having trouble and provided a heater unit for our room when it became too cold. We haven't always experienced this level of service at hotels in India, for this we were very thankful.

The hotel location was fine, particularly for those arriving by train at the main New Delhi station and those interested in the fun street market area of Paharganj. We were able to walk to the bazaar markets and Red Fort and to the Connaught Place area with little difficulty. Alternatively, you new Metro via the New Delhi Train Station to make your way to places further afield if needed. The Hotel is 15 minute walk from the Metro station.

Room was of good size, comfortable bed, TV with English channels, coffee/tea making facilities, two decent chairs and strong wifi-service. Stocked fridge and working safe rounded out a highly functional yet nicely decorated room. This was a nice place to retreat and relax after long days of sightseeing in the city. Bathroom included towels, toiletries and had modern fixtures that worked well, including the toilet and shower.

Morning breakfast was sufficient at the downstairs Cafe De Roi, we found food that we liked each morning and plenty of fruit juice and decent coffee. We ordered dinner from Cafe De Roi up to our room one evening, finding the Indian curry dishes to be quite good. Would have eaten in Cafe De Roi again based on this meal.

In the end, we were quite happy with our experience at Hotel Le Roi, finding the accommodations quite welcoming after having travelled hard around Rajasthan for a couple of weeks. We were need of a bit more comforts, which this hotel more than adequately provided at a very good price. We would have no problems staying here again.

Room Tip: Rooms were quite cold in early January, might be worth asking front desk for a heater unit

A budget hotel, we paid around £30 per night including breakfast and were pleasantly surprised.
Stylish room decor, piping hot water around the clock. Breakfast was hot Indian food, eggs cooked to order, fruit, toast, cereal etc
Free wifi, tea & coffee making facilities in the room and a safe in the wardrobe.
The downside was that the bathroom smelt of damp. The room had some staining on the walls where they had some damp issues.
The room was reasonable in terms of cleanliness, towels and bedding changed every day. Some areas could have been cleaner, like around light switches etc.
View from window was more or less straight into someone's house so we kept the curtains closed.
Overall it was good value for money and if we were staying in the area again we would use this hotel.

For a budget hotel in Paharganj area of Delhi, this was an excellent hotel, with AC lobby, excellent rooms and cleanliness. The included breakfast though not very elaborate was good enough.
Had booked this hotel on email and the front desk had difficulty finding my booking. The billing also was not correct in the first instance as they missed out on some addons and prepared an additional bill.
The property is situated in a relatively calmer area of paharganj but still near to the main road. It is better located than the properties on Aakasrshan road across the road. It also has parking space in front.
Was upgraded to a premium room from the deluxe booking.
The hotel allows to leave your baggage in cloakroom after checkout hours if your train/flight is in evening.

A group of friendly staff greeted us on arrival in to Delhi, having arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport. We found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable, and generally well priced. A simple choice of European or Indian breakfast awaited us each morning in a basic dining room.

We booked a trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal through the travel desk in the hotel, however having seen subsequent prices elsewhere, we found the hotel price was a little expensive in comparison. On our arrival in Agra, we suddenly found an acquaintance of our driver in the car, who was insisting that he would be our guide around the Taj, and that we would only have to give him money if we enjoyed the tour. After insisting that we hadn't booked and didn't need a guide, we eventually convinced our hosts that we would go to the Taj Mahal alone.

Apart from the slight glitch in Agra, we enjoyed our stay at Le Roi, and found Paharganj to be fairly hassle free compared with other areas of Delhi.
