We stayed at Hotel Le Roi for 4 nights on our first stop in India from Melbourne. I must admit I was a bit dubious about the area when we first drove in...Pahar Ganj can be a bit confronting if you have never been to Delhi or India before. However once we stepped into the hotel it was clean, didn't smell bad and the staff were very helpful.
I thought the price was ok, I was expecting to pay less because it was India but it seems Delhi is quite expensive if you want to get a clean, decent room.
The breakfast was ok as well. There were a few things I avoided but we found the food to be ok especially the pancakes!
There were a few other minor irritations - the shower was basically a cold trickle most of the time. When we first got to the room there were no pillows or top sheets so we had to call reception to bring some up. However each day they would take away the top sheet and not replace it so each night we had to call for a new one. The duvets didn't have covers on them so we didn't feel comfortable not using a sheet!
However, the hotel was walking distance to the train station (very handy if you have a 6am train) or if you're not feeling energetic you can catch a tuktuk. Checkout was smooth and fast and once you get to know Pahar Ganj I felt quite comfortable there - more so than other areas of Delhi.
One tip: if you are using tuktuks to get around to the major sights and aren't used to the barganing process and are unsure of the prices, there is a pre-paid auto-rickshaw stand at the entrance to Delhi train station. We used this quite a bit and found it very helpful to avoid the hassle.

My wife and i were looking for an affordable hotel and selected hotel Le Roi based on reviews that we read on trip advisor. We were not disappointed. The facilities were amazing given the pricing. The rooms were clean and had good AC. The staff was courteous and helpful. We requested a universal plug adapter for our chargers from the reception and it was brought up in less than 5 minutes. The location of the hotel is in the busy Pahar Ganj area which is not the cleanest area but quite safe. There are also several good restaurants to eat in the area. The hotel itself has a good but has a limited menu selection. There is also a supermarket within walking distance.Good proximity to the metro and other parts of Delhi you would like to visit. We would stay here again.

Clean rooms, nice staff, comfortable rooms. Bathroom could be cleaner but is fine for an Indian 3 star hotel!
Location is good next to train station and close to subway.
A lot of good restaurants in the area..

We recently stayed at the hotel Le Roi for 4 nights. Comments from previous reviewers regarding the location apply. This was not an issue to us as we expected it and picked the hotel due to its proximity to NDSL station. We also found the walk from the nearest metro was less then 10 minutes as well.
Email responses and airport pickup went well, even though out flight was 30 minutes early. They were able to notify the driver and he arrived earlier to pick us up.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the included breakfast was adequate, but not extensive.
Now to our issues.
1. Staff other than the front desk, expect tips all the time and make it obvious. The worst example was at 5.15am in the morning as we were getting into an autorickshaw we organised ourselves, the doorman came over and asked where his tip was. When we said no, he got quite upset.
2. I believe there is scam operating wit the room service staff. Over the four days we were there, we have the following issues:
- No toilet paper
- No towels, which I only discovered as I stepped out of the shower.
- No top sheets on the bed (happened two days in a row)
These are all quickly rectified with a call to reception, whereby the floor room person turns up at the door with the missing items and then stands there waiting for a tip. Once is a mistake, multiple times is a scam.
3. The Wifisystem requires signons via some service they have called Wifonic. Signal in the room is barely workable, better in reception. More worrying is the level of spam emails I have received on my primary email account since using the Le Roi WiFi system.

In summary, good facilities in a convenient position if you need to be in Pahar Ganj, but would have to say we were glad to move on to our next destination, a first for our over two weeks in India so far.
