I'll be honest, I'm not much of a traveler. I may not know how to get around a city's metro system, but I know gracious hospitality when I see it and Sham Nath Villa is the real deal. From the second we brought our tired bodies across her doorstep, she made us feel welcome and cared for. Our first day in Delhi was a train-wreck, we'd been lost for hours looking for the International Tourist Bureau and came home to Sham Nath Villa tired and defeated. That's when Shalani stepped in and took us under her wing. She hired us a driver, arranged a tour of the local sites, and handled every last detail! It was like my mother had come to Delhi!
Not only were Shalani and her staff awesome, but the villa itself was great. The room was spacious, and our balcony overlooked a gorgeous courtyard. The air conditioner was so good - I actually got cold. A first for me in India! When you stay, be sure and eat a meal or two there as well, as the food was delicious. And if Metro systems are easy for you - there's a station right across the street. As for me, I'll let Shalani get the driver again, he was super and inexpensive!
I hope to bring my husband and daughter on my next trip to Delhi and there's no other place I'd even consider staying.More
