“Great Food, Ambiance, Services”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Food at Spice market is really great, especially the buffet.
The food is superb, the kababs are served hot and are well done. Patthar Ke Kebab and biryani are very good. My The Makkai and Dahi Kababs, Sarson Ki Tikki, Rajma Shammi were very good.

The desserts too were really good, the Mango Shrikhand and Phirni were superb!
Great food, value for money. Must visit...

“Excellent Food .”

The restaurant has a great ambience and the food is delicious. The last star got missed due to overpriced menu and plethora of taxes that comes with the bill

Thanks for the great feedback. Sadly, there isn't much we can do about the taxation as we are merely following the govt laws.

“Best Restaurant of our trip”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

I was in Spice Market a couple of weeks ago with my husband and we loved the place, food and service, by far it was the best restaurant during our stay in India.
Too bad we live so far away if not we would be regular visitors.

“Why does the taste vary?”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

It is strange, very strange! This does not happen with any other restaurant that we have visited anywhere in Delhi. But only with Spice Market. Every time that I have been to this place and ordered the same dishes, the same patthar kebabs, the same bhuna kukda, the taste varies. And I would not be complaining if the taste was good. On my second visit to the restaurant, the patthar kebabs were absolutely bland and on my second visit the chicken tikka biryani tasted awful. Do they have different chefs for different days?
And on my last visit the most shameful thing happened. We paid a tip to the waiter and he went and JOKED about it to this colleague. It must be known to all that in Delhi, all restaurants add a service charge to the final bill. This is paid to the waiters by the restaurants along with their salaries. And Spice Market, unlike other restaurants, also adds this service charge for packing orders, which other restaurants dont. So ideally, one need not pay a tip to the waiter. It is the customers' decision if he wants to give something. Then should the waiter not accept it graciously? This has been a very very bad experience for me and my family. They send us letters offering discount on our birthdays and anniversary, in fact, I have a discount valid till 14th October 2012, but I dont think I would like to go there anymore.

Dear Ma'am,
I regret that you did not have as good an experience as your first time. We do not have different chefs on different days. However, possible on a rare occasion of inadequate staffing, a junior / new joinee might have ended up cooking your meal leading to inconsistency. Please email / sms your contact details on info@spicemarket.in / 9958453636 and I would like to personally address all your concerns.
Regarding Service Charge, we strictly do not levy it on any packing orders. Infact, we have a separate, more economical menu for home deliveries & take away with no Service Charge & Service Tax under the brand name "Spice Market Express Delivery". If you were billed incorrectly, we will surely refund the charge to you. Kindly let us know the bill details in your mail or I can discuss when I speak to you.

Please note that this was surely a one-off incident where our otherwise high standards might have slipped due to unforeseen circumstances. We would love to welcome you back in the restaurant with all the warmth & hospitality we are known for. Thanks for sharing your concerns!
