Aman literally translated from Hindi to English mean Peace and Calm. These two words will be your constant companion when you stay at this hotel. I recommend staying at the Aman Suite which has two rooms, a plunge pool and a living room. The hotel has a new bustling bar called Anidra which is frequented by the who's who of New Delhi.

Room Tip: Call them directly and negotiate. Getting 20% - 30% off the regular room rate is not difficult.

From the moment I checked into the room till the sad moment of check out, I have enjoyed and experienced one of the best service available anywhere in the world.
The hotel does not have many rooms, five on each floor, a total of about 40-45 rooms, maybe that is why there is no large buffet breakfast, just a la carte. Also you'll not see too many guests around. Gives you the feeling that you are the only guest there. That is what is called exclusivity.
Beginning with the room, it is huge. I was at the Aman Room, the biggest one can get in Delhi, at that category. The rooms have a private plunge pool and shower and a tub. All of it, be the room or the tub, is generously big. Each room also has a varandah with sitting arrangement. Also there is a set of sofa and a lounger in the middle of the room giving it a suite like feel.
The hotel is not very colorfully decorated. The decor is all black.
The food was resonantly good. The location was excellent, so were the views from the 4th floor.

Thus, summarizing everything:
Pros: Huge room with big bed, private plunge pool, Big varandah with beautiful views, friendly and helpful staff, great servi, suite like rooms.
Cons: one can sense loneliness if staying here alone, but the pool might keep you occupied.
You might find this property a little expensive, but trust me, if you just want to have a good time and relax, this is the place to be.

great experience, unfortunately only staying the one night on a recent trip, its in a great location which is very central and overlooks the beautiful lodhi gardens. The plunge pool is a great asset in Delhi, we were here in late march and it was much appreciated after a day spent in the 40 degree + heat

We stayed at the Aman New Delhi after a two week trip around Rajasthan and it was the perfect place to unwind and regather our energy before heading down to Mumbai. The hotel is decorated in a very chic and contemporary way without sacrificing on luxury or comfort. The hotel room is one of the best we've ever stayed in, in terms of comfort and interior design, and was absolutely huge. We loved the private pool and the terrace for breakfast. As always in Aman resorts the food and service was impeccable - one member of staff even went out of her way to buy material at the local market and bring a tailor to the hotel to make an Indian tunic for me, when I mentioned that I hadn't been able to find a simple white one yet throughout my travels in Rajasthan. By the next day two had been specially made for me, at a price that was consistent with what you would find in the market! Absolutely incredible. It is a fantastic base to explore New Delhi as it is very close to all the sights, but I must admit it is very hard to leave the hotel! If we return to New Delhi, we will definitely be staying here again. We wholeheartedly recommend it!

The Aman New Delhi is the most amazing hotel in the Indian capital! From the moment one steps into the haven of sophistication to the time of departure, the service does not fail. The property boasts the most beautiful rooms paired with great staff and amenities. The private pools in each room make it really difficult to leave the hotel.....!
The location is perfect for both leisure and business travelers. The spa and great restaurant are world class!
I can simply not wait to return and can recommend this property to any traveller to Delhi!

I'm 100% satisfied with our decision to stay in the Aman while we were in New Delhi, which was the first stop in our 10 day India trip. Although the rooms seem to start at higher rates than the other luxury hotels in the city (such as the Taj, Oberoi or Imperial), I think it is definitely worth the splurge. All of the rooms, including the cheapest one you can get, are huge, probably over 1000 sq ft -- with a separate seating area as well as ample outdoor space and a private plunge pool (note that we were there in January, when it was a little too cold for dipping in the plunge pool, but I think any other time of year, it would be a nice break from the heat). So you really should be comparing the Aman basic room with a suite in these other hotels. Moreover, the small things at Aman actually go a long way in making the Aman stand out -- for example, the Aman provides free wifi in the room (whereas the Taj and the Oberoi charge you) and free snacks every day, and all of the electrical outlets were international (so my husband had no problem charging our 2 computers and 2 cellphones).

I personally liked the sleek, Eastern-modern fusion design of the hotel, which is very appropriate for a city hotel and a nice contrast to the palatial grandeur in some of the other hotels, which you will get plenty of in the rest of India.

We were picked up by one of the cars from the hotel's fleet of vintage Ambassadors. Our driver Praveen was a very eager and friendly fellow. Being a Delhi native as well as a driver for many many years, he knew a lot about the city -- so if you want to save money on hiring a professional tour guide for all of the obvious tourist sites, then you can stick with Praveen.

The food at the hotel was amazing. My husband is of Indian descent and thought that the okra we had here was probably the best he's ever had and that the yellow dal here rivaled his mother's (dal is one of her specialties that she cooks/eats daily).

The next time I'm in Delhi, I would definitely stay at the Aman again.
