“Nice facility! But need more hospitality”
Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

We stayed executive double and it was more than our expectation!

The room was wide and we liked that we could separate the bedroom and living room by door.
The king size bed was so comfortable and room was clean, laundry service is great but expensive.
24 hours room service is great but the chicken steak i ordered was too salty, i enjoyed apple pie with ice cream though.
Personally, i didn't like the moggy smell that always welcomes us when we come back into the room. And i had to take ages to take shower for the stuck.

Although the good points, i liked newspaper delivery service every morning, the breakfast was absolutely lovely! Many choices and great quality! I really love them. Although some waiters' poor hospitality attitudes were not suitable. I really felt uncomfortable when they kept starring at me after i made mess on the buffet table by lassi which was stucked in the tin bottle. I was little surprised noone even didn't notice for few minutes when i was looking for the chance to apologize, then they were just standing and talking to each other. And they were starring at me until i left there. It made me shocked because i felt that's the hospitality level of india. Anyway i liked the elegance of receptionists and courtesy of gatemen. i was impressed of the location of this hotel is connected to the asian second biggest shopping centre, city walk! The foreign currency in city walk was the best rate!
I wish we could have more time to enjoy staying there to experience the gym where is open for the view of the park part of city walk. I would have definately tried the well-designed swimming pool if it wasn't surrounded by pigeon's drops.

In total, it was quiet luxury and comfortable hotel with reliable security and privacy.

This is my 3rd time in India and first time at Svelte. Depite not having WiFi, this is the most functional hotel we have used yet and we would definitely return. The staff is not creepy or smelly. We thought our suite was clean, even by US standards. The breakfast is entirerly edible and never made us sick in the 3 weeks we stayed here. The beds and pillows were fine, though towels are scarce unless you ak for extras. The rooms are good size suites with everything you will need to function and take care of a new baby. Housekeeping is VERY accustomed to people showing up with new babies and they will happily deliver cots, extra bottled water, etc. The night nurses can also call the front desk to request supplies with no issue because the staff knows them all by name. The location is 15 mins from Shivani's office and there were about 20 SCI families here during our stay, which made for an amazing breakfast. Ask for a room that faces the front of the mall as the view is much nicer than the backside. WiFi requires a router, so bring your own because the hotel only has 2. Internet is annoyingly slow and there is a daily charge so it's not good for business travelers who need decent access.

The place is a little hard to figure out as the cab drivers didn't know where this was. However, service, cleanliness are upto mark. Being connected to a mall internally was a bonus in escaping the summer heat. The concierge was brilliant. We needed to access and print some documents before departure and he did so without a hitch even though it was the middle of the night.

The only down part was that for the money we're paying you'd expect free wifi in the rooms. However, wifi was only available in the lobby.

Room Tip: Choose one of the rooms that faces the mall.

We had a great one week stay at Svelte, it connects to a very nice shopping mall Select Citywalk.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
Breakfast is good but not much american style.
Location is a bit far if you are doing business downtown, traffic is hectic in Delhi.
We had a good experience with front desk service.

I'm totally lost as to how this place is the Traveller's Choice 2012 Winner. It is hands down the filthiest place i have ever stayed. The grout in the shower was covered in filth and there were brown smears on the tiles next to the toilet (i didn't get close enough to confirm the obvious). The taps and hardware were cloudy with water spots and not shiny at all. The towels were old, tired looking and more of a greyish colour rather than white.

The kitchen was just as bad, taps and hardware were cloudy with water spots and not shiny at all. The hotplate was covered in grime from spilt food. The black bench top had white water rings from mugs/plates etc. Cutlery was disgusting and the kettle had mould on the inside and grime around the lid and handle.

The room overall had not been cleaned with any water or cleaning product in a really long time. and the noise level from the mall downstairs was ridiculous!

As if all of that was not bad enough, i had my medication in the fridge and while we were out of the room housekeeping decided to have a play around with it. They took the injector pen out of its packaging and had a fiddle with the injection amounts and who knows what else.

Never again and i would advise anyone who is considering staying here to go somewhere else.

First the positive points :

Great location
Large rooms - I would not call them suites as it was a makeshift suite.
Quick check in

Negative ;

Poor quality of bed and pillows.. I think the worse i have encountered in my entire hotel stay. I think this the biggest mistake overlooked by management.

Food quality and service is not upto the mark.

The front desk is not attentive.

The entire staff is not at all synchronised and you need to call them again and again for basic service.

No value for money.

Room Tip: All rooms are same..

Great location, attached to massive shopping mall (with private entrance). Next door to another and across the street from some nice restaurants and a beer store.
We stayed there 3 times as we used Delhi as a hub to the see the triangle and the north. Knowing that the grocery store (with a pharmacy section) was there allowed s to pick up things we had forgotten or used up. There are some nice restaurants in the mall as well as lots of shopping and at least 3 ATMs.
The rooms are very large, with nice common area, kitchen etc. Two flat screen TVs.

Room Tip: It can be very noisy facing the public garden area.
