Hotel Raunak International

The pictures attached will clearly show the results of booking with this hotel. We had no pickup at the airport which was promised but that could have been overlooked. Upon entering the Hotel Raunak the man at check in informed us that they were full at this hotel but had a room at their "sister" hotel. We were then instructed to follow one of the hotel staff a block away. This turned out to be a 7 block walk with all our stuff down the shady streets in this area at 11 PM. The hotel they were trying to get us to stay at was a complete rathole. Absolutely disgusting......upon walking back to Hotel Raunak they changed their story and told us that they had given away our reservation because we had not pre-paid. (they had never asked for a deposit or payment in full during our email correspondence however) Long story short Mr Singh at the hotel ended up saying he could give us a discounted room in the part of the hotel being renovated. There was no heat or hot water and we spent a miserable night at this horrible hotel. Pictures will verify the terrible conditions.

Please do not put yourself through dealing with the crooked hotel staff that is only after your money and does not look out for their guests.

I booked in to this hotel due to the great reviews and was looking forward to my stay. The reality was very different. We had booked 2 executive rooms and spent extra money for these, upon arrival we were told that all rooms in the original hotel were fully booked and they would provide us with rooms in the building next door where they were building an extension to the hotel. The rooms they provided were full of dust created as a result of the building, smelt of fumes caused by the building work machinery, and there was building work noise until 11pm! Also the shower didnt work and the TV and the rooms were windowless.

We spoke with the reception desk the following day to request to be moved, they told us they couldn't move us therefotre we decided to leave and book in to another hotel. The hotel also refused to refund us. I would recommend to anybody not to stay at this hotel.

When we arrrived we were welcomed by the manager who offered us complimentary refreshments. We were visiting for the first time and it was useful to have an idea of do's and don'ts.

The rates were economical and the small team at the restaurant also did a good meal at affordable prices.

Employees helpful and kind. Though airport pickup was forgotten? When checkin tryed to give us a very very bad room instead of booked juniorsuite. Hotel is rather dirty, like other hotel in India? why don´t use female employee. Breakfast very bad. In corridor there is a servicetelephone for hotel staying in contact with staff. This is waking up all rooms all the time. Location intresting and intensive, rather close to subway.

Travelled around India with a tour company and Hotel Raunak is the first hotel used on the trip, which was not the best idea as the disgusting filthy smelling hole of a place ruined the first day of trip making me wonder what the hell had i done. I was in the ground floor room by reception, filthy sheets and stinking pillows on the bed, the headboards were stained with grot, the bathroom had a very strong odour of urine and got worst everytime the rooms upstairs flushed their toilets, the staff were rude and sat outside your room all night talking loud so you couldnt sleep, dogs barking outside your window. Didnt get any sleep and couldnt wait to get out the door. Please do not spend money in this hotel and campaign for your tour company to take this hotel off their books. It is a health hazzard staying here. Im surprised to read even one good report on this hotel, most good reports seem to be from nationals who are maybe used to bad quality, but overseas travellers i think prefer basic - but clean, which this hotel certainly is not.

We had free airport pickup in our deal. No one picked us up. We had been confirmed by telephone the day before and the same day.- Yes there is a room for you, -yes we will pick you up. We came about 11 pm and the room was disguisting. Dirty sheet (there was only one) with a really dirty blanket. It was very cold and it was not a proper bathroom. It wasn´t possible to stay there (3 persons no extrabed, but they said they could fix one) So we moved in the middle of the night, freezing cold with a riksha, to another hotel. We did loose two nights rate, payed in advance, but it wasn´t possible to stay in that place!
