This was a gem in the rough! As we walked down the path towards our acommodation little bits of our upcoming view kept appearing to us. I could here my husband behind me mummbling words like "Oh my god", "really"?, and unbelievable. Our cabin deck was literally 5 feet from the ocean. Coconut trees growing out of the surf right there!! Cabins were basic but clean. In this environment you will find that basic is all you need. We did have a private bath not connected to our room but very close and private. The village is a short 1/4 mile walk from Yemenja. When the sun starts to go down this place really comes to life. Locals and tourist alike must know about the awesome meals that Pascal creates for the quests and anyone who wants to stop by for a great and affordable meal. We must say that we had the best food we had eaten in Panama right here at Yemenja. Lamar is very attentive and kind and made us feel right at home (for you single good guys, she is also quite attractive, but nice guys only, she is a smart cookie). The atmosphere here is very chill and relaxed. The waves at night just make for a really peaceful sleep. The rates are cheap for what you get. Not a very big fridge upstairs though so don't bring too much of your own food unless you have a cooler. No need though plenty to eat on the island. I would highly recommend this hostel and restaurant to anyone. We plan to be back.
