“Glad to have stopped by”
Reviewed May 13, 2014 via mobile

The TripAdvisor app made me try this place. I stopped by for happy hour/dinner. Happy Hour was 4-6:30pm...The monitor seemed a little weak but the ambiance and dinner made up for it. Smallish place with a deck in the back. I ordered pad thai mixer a 3 bowl sampler and it was great. Service was on par..The view peaceful. May be they'll get wifi at some point may be they wont. Give it a try

“Excellent mahi-mahi and I like it here”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

I see some mixed reviews and those I was with were the of mixed opinions. I asked the friendly food-server for a recommendation on the fish and it was awesome, cooked just right with great blend of spicy flavours. It's lovely eating out on the dock for early dinner and watching the water taxis and waterfront activities. I would go here again and I think it's well worth trying; it seemed popular and did get busy later in the evening.

“Best coffee in Bocas”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

I had breakfast at Maracuya one morning and had this 'start me up' menu. Everything tasted great with the mix of flavours (peppers on the eggs, lemon-like taste on the potatoes). But organic coffee was so special good that i had to come back there to take my last panamanian breakfast! Definitely it is something to try in Bocas!

“Average fare but room for improvement”
Reviewed February 20, 2014 via mobile

This place is a sister restaurant to OM, the Indian food restaurant across the street. I found it somewhat overpriced for the food that came, but then this being an island you can expect to pay more for everything. My wife ordered the five spice fish on the recommendation of the waitress and rated it top notch. I ordered a chicken dish called 'creme de la creme'. For 13.75 I expect to get more than five chunks of chicken in a bland sauce. It was a peanut base and would have benefitted from some extra spice, lemon juice and sugar. The mashed potatoes were lumpy, half warm and bland and the shredded carrot with cumin amounted to two forkfuls that again barely had any flavour. You can do worse for meals in Bocas, but Maracuya could do a lot better with a little more attention to detail.

“Absolutely the best in Bocas Town”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

The trick is to find Maracuya open -- they only serve dinner during the week. No lunch, no weekends. But, oh wow -- they do an excellent job. Thai-inspired dishes, very reasonably priced, fresh and flavorful beyond description. Open, airy dock seating on the water. We dined there three times and would have done more if they were open on weekends. Yum.
