I went there one morning seeking the advertised hot sauce, which WAS great...the view is awesome and the food was excellent. The service could have friendlied it up a bit , but that what can you say. They are slow, but NOTHING happens here very fast! Chill and deal with it!

There are so many small waterside restaurants in Bocas and Lili's is not trying hard enough. Not much more I can say really!

Built out over the water and with an amazingly diverse menu, including all day breakfasts, this is a great place for a quiet, leisurely meal with friends or that special someone. The bread is home made so the sandwiches are amazing and huge, enough for the heartiest appetite or as an ample snack for two. But as everything is prepared to order, with tender loving care, it does take a while. The people who work here are definitely laid back and on island time so go half an hour before you're hungry and plan on making an event out of it. Not the best place to go if you're in a hurry (neither is Bocas) but a wonderful place to go if you just want to unwind and soak up the ambiance and the relaxing island atmosphere while preparing to eat some very tasty food. I especially love the home-made lasagna.
And most Saturday evenings they have "Sounds on Saturday", a really fun Open Jam session with a great sound system and some very talented musicians. Here the locals and ex-pats gather to sing and dance, drink Cequila (tequila shots chased by Ceviche juice), eat tasty fresh ceviche, laugh and play and just celebrate the joy of living in a truly beautiful place surrounded by friends.
And if there are a lot of musicians on the island they even sometimes have "Tunes on Tuesday".
And Lili is one of the most amazingly positive people you will ever be blessed to meet. A true character and a ray of sunshine in the community.
Lili's Cafe is honestly one of the special hidden treasures that makes Bocas del Toro such a special gem for those who are lucky enough, and patient enough, to experience and enjoy the true spirit and laid back pace of the islands.

they're famous for their sauce. The location was beautiful, but the food was average. Would go there once, just for the view.

The food was all very good and the pineapple shakes were amazing!! Their "Killin' Me Man" hot sauce was good and we bought a bottle to take home. We (two of us) were the only ones there for lunch but service was still pretty slow, just getting to place our order took a while. It also started out with good reggae music that fit the vibe but then they turned on 70s rock music and it kind of killed the ambiance. I think it was just off-season and a weird hour though.
