After a friendly commission seeking local showed us 2 other hostel/hotels with private rooms in our price range we decided to stay here. The room looked nice, having had a recent make over and it was just far enough away from the action to remain quiet (rooster aside! Nothing earplugs wont solve...) Bathroom could be cleaner but good shower and hot water so cant complain. Room serviced daily. Previous posts mentioning rats is a bit unfair on the establishment. Its a town problem, not a hotel problem....not surprising with the rubbish removal method...or lack of. Having said that, in our 5 day stay we saw no rats.....the lady upstairs must have been busy :-D

I normally stay in hosteldorms but was travelling with a friend. we'd heared that this is a good option. It's only a room, so no kitchen to use. Because of that the owner (Dennis, USA) took $5 off the price (30 usd) so I could get my coffee across the street.
The room is good: good bed, aircon and fan, fridge, safetybox, laptop and a tv with lots of channels. Towel (new ones every day) and soap is included and shower has hot water. But the bathroom smells (not only paint).
Roosters wake you up in the morning and in the evening you'll see rats outside.
Location is quiet and 10 min walk to the dock, 5 minutes to main street. Shops are near.

Thirty bucks a night with a/c, fridge, safe, laptop, flatcreen, and close to the center of activity.
The room was decent size and clean enough, the chickens in the garden were fun-----well the rooster was going early, but it's Panama so it is noisey...
We had a great time here, but Panama isn't Costa Rica so there was an overall lack of Pura Vida everpresent not just on this property but throughout the area......but that's a different topic.
What did stick in our minds here, was the abundant supply of rats running through the walkway and garden. What was even more entertaining was the lady shooting them the second morning we were there. She was a good shot, killed a big one which she carried back to the house from the garden by the tail.....looked like it weighed two pounds or more.
After that, we cut our stay short in Bocas and hightailed it back to Costa Rica....Pura Vida

Good location- close enough to town, but in a quiet area. Very friendly staff. Rooms have a satellite TV, refrigerator, safe and a computer. The place looks very old, and therefore doesn't look too clean. Towels have stain on them.

This small hotel is in a good locations with decent amenities for a short stay. The rooms are small with a fridge, AC, computers in the room, wifi, and flat screens. The room is rather quite and I had a good night sleep there. The owner is very friendly and will be happy to recommend where to eat and what to do while you are there. The price was $40 per night. We only stayed one night.

The bathroom was very dirty looking however and my towels had alot of stains on it, so much so that I used my own. Overall the rooms need a deep cleaning and they need all new linens.
