“Quiet, comfortable and relaxing!”
Reviewed February 8, 2012

We were here in the off season so not too many business were open. It was very quiet though. The weather did not cooperate at all. Not that you can judge the weather here at all in Taiwan. But maybe February is not the best month.

“Relaxing Getaway with Great Snorkeling”
Reviewed October 10, 2011

Beautiful island that is small enough to circle with a motor scooter in a few hours. Three great snorkeling areas: Chaikou, Shilang, and Dabaisha. We liked the latter the most. All of these "beaches" have coral formations that gradually descend into the sea. So there isn't any opportunity to play in the waves. But the snorkeling is great! I would recommend bringing your own mask and snorkel and reef shoes. The snorkeling tours were funny to watch. Everyone would have on wet suits, life preservers, and hold onto buoys. And they would sit in one spot and feed the fish. How unfortunate! If you take your own stuff you save money and get to explore a lot more.

The motor scooter is the best way to get around. There are virtually no cars on the island so it is less intimidating that Gaoxiong or Taibei.

We stayed in Nanliao Village, which offered nearby restaurants and shops. If you speak Chinese and call any hotel they can usually arrange packages that include the ferry tickets, the room rate, the scooter rental, and a ticket to the hot springs. None of the hotels here were spectacular... just a place to sleep and shower.

Places on the island worth visiting are the Little Great Wall ( you'll see it from the road), Zhaori Hot Springs, and Sika Deer Ecological Park. The trail across the island was incredibly demanding with not that many rewarding views. If you want exercise go, but if you want views, then don't.

Overall, great place to spend 2-3 days

“great island off Taiwan coast”
Reviewed July 4, 2011

My highlights on Green Island were the cycling around the island, scuba diving and visiting the shops dotted along the Nanliao street. Cycling might not be the best choice with most people going around the tiny island on motocycles, but I did it with a bicycle, petty excting within the 3 hours on on the road, I stopped for some breathtakingly views and snapped some shots. Scuba diving is a must when going to Green Island, the underwater world is out of expectation for a rookie like me, and actually for most people coming to the island. Don't worry there's no place to go in the evening, there are some incredible shops near the harbor, there most unforgetable, for me, being the postcard shop and ice jail. Really cool to take a day or two off and relax on the island.

“The hidden treasure on the Pacific Ocean”
Reviewed June 10, 2011

Travelling on Green Island can make you forget about reality for a moment. Enjoying the endless scenery, cruise around the island on scooter, dive if you wish, a hot spring that opens until 2am. On this Island, time is not a factor, you eat when you're hungry, you play when you're bored, it is a place to relax oneself and get some thinking done.

People on the island is super friendly too, don't be afraid to ask around should you need help, everybody on this island is ready to help.

Do not forget to ask your hotel for a night tour of the Island, they will take you up to the hill to watch while life (such as deer and owl) and the drop dead gorgeous sea of Stars...

A picture say a million word, I'll upload a few pictures for your own judgement.

This place is a must visit if you're around the area!
