Booking
fast and prompt email confirmation and reply by the lady boss.

Check in
once we arrive at the minsu, we were greeted by Mr Zhong. He bring us to the hotel lobby which is also the restaurant area. He pass us a map and brief us regarding the interests around the area, and the services provided by the minsu. In the end, we took up the offer to go see the sunrise and go watch the sheep show. Once he done the briefing, we went to the counter and do the check in with the lady boss. She is nice and friendly, and she addressed you by your name. Which I think, do help in making you feel at home.

Mr Zhong helped us to bring our luggage to our room door. We stay at level 1 so it just one more flight of stairs to the level. I recommend those traveling with elderly to request lower level with the lady boss . The number of stairs to climbed to the top level is tiring.

Dinner
We went to walk some of the route given to us by Mr Zhong. After that we went back for dinner. The dinner was very good!, even my picky wife likes it a lot. It their Yun-Nan cuisine but a healthy version of it( Less oily). I do not know whether they changed their dinner menu regularly as I only stayed for 1 night.

Trip to see sunrise at He Huan Mountain.
Our driver is Mr Zhong, personally I feel he a very knowledgeable guy (he from some taiwan magazine and a avid mountain climber i suppose). He will bring us to some place to get use to the altitude and see stars before driving higher up to the Mountain. He also show us and introduce some of the history regarding CingJing and some interesting facts along the journey.
He also passed us his number so next time regarding any trip planning to Taiwan he can to introduce us as well as provide us help if we need it.

Breakfast
We went down a little later for breakfast as my wife was feeling a bit sick after the journey back from the mountains, Almost all the food was finish, the lady boss saw it and she personally went to inform the kitchen cooks to prepare more food for the 2 of us and another couple.

Room
the room are not air-conditioned but it generally cooling even it summer. There are 2 windows that have mesh that you can open or close it. I do suggest you use the mesh at night as it is to prevent the insects from coming into your room while you sleeping. Bathroom are big and clean , There is this huge window with glass panel for you to view the whole of Cing Jing(higher the level, the better the view).

Overall, We had a good experience with this minsu and will recommend to people looking for value added minsu in Cing Jing.

Room Tip: If do not want to climb too high, do request lower level when booking over email.

Stayed here for a night in January 2013 in the Standard Room (3rd floor).

We took a bus here (giddily fantastic views along the way) and the bus stop was quite near with the exception of a uphill walk to the minsu. It can get rather tiring climbing up the stairs to the room at the end of the day, but the view out the window was just incredible (both to look at and to wake up to). They arranged for free transport to Cingjing Farm which was fantastic.

A few places to eat in the area, with a 7-11 nearby, so no problems for dinner. We woke up a little late to breakfast but whatever food left was still warm and decent.

I'm not too keen on the bathroom. It is huge but the window faces out to the corridor and the shade was not easy to pull down.

There is a (relative) lack of personal touches, but then at that point of time, we were COMPLETELY spoiled by the hospitality provided to us by smaller minsu owners in other parts of Taiwan. Compared to the general service in hostels/hotels/minsus around the world, this is pretty good.

we didn't book this minsu before the trip, all we did is we "walk-in" .. luckily we got a room !!
the female staff(I guess she is one of the boss) is very friendly, she showed us the room first before letting us to decide, and of coz, the location is nice, the sitting room is nice, and their dog NelNel is very friendly too !!
The boss showed us the routes to The sheep farm and Mr. Zhung did the shuttle for us, and he gave us his mobile as in case we lost our way.. it is a walkable distance to the cingcing chau yuen, and the Swiss garden.
the breakfast is great, fresh tomato, veggie , and some hot dish.
they also provide some tour, you may ask for information, they will give you some good advice :)

The location of this minsu is great. It is opposite the Little Swiss Garden and 7-11, about 2 min walk. It is situated on a steep hill and remember to bring a torch light if you need to walk back at night. We had our dinner in this minsu too. The dishes were great. There are few Indonesian staff in the minsu too and they spoke fluent Mandarin though they only came to Taiwan for about 8 months. We met typhoon Soulik while staying there. The road was blocked by fallen trees in our first attempt to go down the mountain. The car had to turn back to the minsu and they served us hot tea and hot water. We were told to go back to room to rest too.

We only left the minsu at 2pm plus. It was a great stay.

We stayed in Misty Villa Cingjing for 1 night on (7th July - 8th July). We arrived about 6pm via our taxi after our tour at Taroko Gorge. We are a group of 7 and we booked a 4 people room and a 3 people room. It was side by side. Both without dinner but with breakfast. Costs about SGD 320 for a group of 7 for 2 rooms for 1 night.

Email response:
We booked via email as their online booking system has some problem. Email response for queries and booking were extremely fast and always within the day!

Service:
Upon arrival, a male staff (I think he is called Mr Zhong) introduced to us what are available around Cingjing while the female owner helped us to check in. As we were not staying in Cingjing for long, we are not that interested to know every single thing available but he still rattles on despite us showing a tired and uninterested face.

Anyway, the hotel provides free shuttle to Cingjing Qing Qing Cao Yuan at 9am and another timing in the afternoon, roughly about 2pm. We chose the 9am shuttle as we will travel out from Cingjing about noon. We asked if we can go earlier (instead of 9am, probably about 8.30am or so) so that we can take photos. However, we were then asked why we want to go earlier as there is nothing much to see (in a very sarcastic tone) and the sheep show is only at 9.30am. Thinking that there are other people who will be going with us on their private vehicle, we accommodated to the 9am shuttle. However, on the next day, we realised that it was only us on the private vehicle to the place. And it was so rushed! Upon arrival at Qing Qing Cao Yuan, we have to go straight to the sheepshow! We have no time to take photos too or take a walk around! This is really very disappointing as after the sheepshow, we have to rushed for the horseshow (which we did not go in the end as we rather walk around the place). This resulted in us not being able to enjoy and have enough time to get near to the sheeps! This part of service is really disappointing! The good part is that you can walk back to the minsu via the trail of more than 500 steps. Roughly about 15-20 mins walk.

We were also being asked if we want to try the hotspring (with a cost) at Lushan. Since it was rather cold, we went. You can get it at NT700 per pax (for shared hot spring with others) or NT1100 per pax (you will have ur own private room with hot spring). However, they won't allow you to have the whole private room to ourselves. They asked us to have 3 people in one and 4 people in another. The hotspring is just ok. The drive is about 30mins away and we have to set off from the hotel at 7pm. Non-negotiable despite we are the only one for the private vehicle to the hotspring hotel at lushan :(

However, Mr Zhong did offered to help us carry our luggage up the slope too when he is showing us to our room! We stayed at level 2 but it was still a slope of about 40+ steps! Instead of showing us directly to our rooms, he only stopped halfway and showed us where our rooms are. If he took the extra effort to show us to our room, the service will be thumbs up.

Location:
There is 7-11 and mos burger located nearby (of course you have to walk up and down the slope) but it is good if you feel hungry late at night.

It is centrally located near swiss garden too. But due to lack of time, we did not have the time to go. Actually there is a small gap of time till our hotspring but though knowing we have tight timing, the hotel also did not properly advise us on that too and how long our hotspring will be. We only know it was super near to our minsu after that and the to-fro trip to the hotspring takes quite long :(

The minsu is also located near Carton King Cingjing and starbucks too.

Facilities/Rooms:
Rooms was non-air conditioned but that is not a problem as Cingjing is quite cooling. We went in the summer period but it was already quite cooling. Guess it will be cold during winter.

The toilet is quite old looking but basic enough. They also have toothbrush, toothpaste, shaver available for usage. Don’t try to throw toilet paper into the toilet bowl as it looks kinda weak in flushing.

Fridge is available but we couldn’t find a socket to plug it in. No safe available. TV is available.

Wifi connection is a little poor but usable. We couldn’t connect at the start but after calling the reception, they resolve it within 10-15mins.

Breakfast is available together with the room. The spread is alright. We only stayed 1 night so I am not sure if this will be changed every day.

There is a balcony for both our rooms. The view for sunrise is not bad though not magnificent as it is kinda blocked by the mountains. Maybe it will be good to go for the morning tour to hehuanshan for the sunrise instead!

The night view is great!! With loads of stars!! <3

Overall:
Might or might not stay here again depends on whether there are better minsu around available as the pre-service is good but the service upon arrival is average. Facilities and rooms are average. Wifi is poor. Location is not bad since it is near to food area and some attractions in Cingjing. Will tend to try other minsu if possible as this minsu did not really meet my expectation of a minsu which should give a homely feel..

Room Tip: Don't try higher floors if you have mobility issues due to the steps!

My first stay in a 民宿 (minsu) and I must say everything was perfect except for the climb up the slope to misty villa and then to my room which was at level 2 (more like 4th floor).

I stayed for a night in Misty Villa and took up a morning tour to 合歡山 (HeHuanShan). What I liked about Misty Villa
- Great view from the room
- Good service, quite common in Taiwan
- Delicious breakfast
- Private tour to 合歡山
- Great location which is near to the 7-11 and starbucks
- Clean rooms

Before I went for my trip, I emailed Misty Villa and checked with them the different ways up to CingJing. They provided me the price for a bus and cab up to CingJing. Once I reached, the staff introduced the area to me, showing me the various tour locations in CingJing and how we can get to there.

合歡山 tour was the highlight for my trip. Booked a morning tour to see the sunrise for NT$400 per pax. The tour up the mountain was by a minivan provided my the 民宿 themselves, different from others that took a bus at the same price. The 民宿 also provided transport to 青青草原 at 2 different timing, and from 青青草原 you can walk all the way back to the 民宿。
Before we left, the staff provided us his name card and told us to call him if we met any problems in taiwan.

Will definitely return to misty villa if I am going back cingjing again!

Room Tip: Ask for lower level if you do not want to climb up the stairs for a better view :)

I can't really tell why there are so many rave reviews on this minsu. I think it's average just like the other minsu, the other minsu I have stayed before is Euro Country Minsu. The amenities is basic like the mattress, TV and the bathroom. I think that's the standard in the minsu in Cingjing, you have to manage your expectation if it's your first time in minsu. In fact the temperature of the hot water in the bathroom (it's on the dreaded 3rd floor) is not consistant, it's too hot or too cold sometime. We have to zip in and out of the shower and do it real quick.

People always talked about the central location but you have to be beware of the slope even from base point that means you already have to climb a mini slope and stairs to the minsu itself. We stayed in the unpopular 3rd floor, it seem like at least 4th floor to me and it really made you grasping for breath even for young adult. This is a really a turn off.

Look for a minsu in central location but with less slope to climb.

Room Tip: Don't take the room in 3rd floor
