“Paradise Turned Hell”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014

Guest with very young kids & the elderly sepecially, Stay here only if you are 101% sure you won't need emergency assistance. We stayed at the resort on 5th Feb 2014. At 2.30am, we called front desk asking for the nearest hospital A&E where we could get immediate medical attention for severe stomach cramps, vomitting & diarrhea. Shockingly, we were told by the staff on duty we had to wait till 7am before we could seek medical treatment as the hospital was closed. Asked for alternative solutions for the next available hospital which was not closed but were told there weren't any. Asked for the ambulance, there was none available either. If we could wait till 7am it wouldn't be an emergency anymore. If someone dies in the resort, it would probably be that their body would only be picked up at 7am the next morning. 7am 7am 7am that was the only phrase we heard from front desk throughout our plea for help. We did finally get to A&E with the help of our tour guide, we were diagonised with acute stomach influenza in a hopsital which was just right outside the resort & only a 6 to 7 minutes drive away. Such ignorant staff, assigned to take care of guests needs, lack of even the basic knowledge of what is even situated right outside their resort, tremondously unprofessional & unfeeling, making us go through the uncalled for & unnecessary trauma for hours. We emailed the resort after our trip. No one even bothered to take the effort to reply. A terrible experience we wished we could just edit it off like how we edit our photos.

We came this resort with a tour group and were given rooms with a spa bath arriving around 6.30 pm.

Beds were very comfortable with very nice modern rooms which borders on being luxurious. Rooms were very spacious and facilities like brand new. Spa was really good and we had a good soak at night and in the morning before we left. Toilet and shower were separate with open concept for the whole spa area which is almost as big as the bedroom.

Evening dinner was a performance with cultural dance kind of setup which was quite interesting. Food was very good too. Breakfast spread was good and delicious.

We didn't stay long to enjoy the park as we had to move on with our tour itinerary. Will probably come back again on our own the next time to visit the nature aspect of this resort and spend a bit more time here.

This place is about 10 mins from Puli. We chose to stay in the older villas (xiao3mu4wu1) instead of the new spa rooms and were glad we did. The villas are significantly cheaper and actually quite cosy, even thought hey look a little run down outside. Included in the stay is admission to the ecological leisure farm, which is worth a stroll in the morning. They are like botanical gardens, albeit a little decrepit in certain parts.

Room Tip: Older villas are better value

Visited this place after Sun Moon Lake. An interesting guided walk around the farm picked up many interesting fact on the plants, flowers and bees. Will be enriching for family with kids. There are DIY stores as well and plenty nature sight for photo taking. The accommodation look nice and serene but we didn't stay.

we accidenally found this place on the way home (taipei) from sun moon lake and since then have been back once and can't wait for the next time we have a free weekend to go again! the place is beautiful, with many very pretty quiet corners you can just go to read a book in or spend time with your family or friends. they also have a butterfly sanctuary where you can see a lot of different kinds of butterflies up close in their natural habitat, and many small shops selling handmade goods.
the service is no short of excellent, and the rooms are really good. compared to other places we've been to in taiwan, they aren't expensive at all, especially compared to what you get. we only stayed in the cabins, which are on the water (see picture below) but the hotel and spa look really good as well. they have some DIY workshops which we haven't tried yet, but all in all i would say that you'd have to pretty much entertain yourself if staying there for more than one night.
however, if you're just looking for a relaxing weekend in a beautiful place, this place is highly recommended!

My husband and I with 3 children aged 15, 13 and 7 yrs old stayed in this hotel for 1 night in Dec 2010. Ask to stay in the new wing, facing the mountain. The hotel room in the new wing is spacious and very new. There are 2 bath tubs in the room. 1 bath tub has both hot spring and cold mountain water. The other bath tub only have cold mountain water. We slept very well in this hotel and it was good that it was relatively quiet as most Taiwan hotels that we stayed in had very thin walls and were very noisy. On the grounds of this hotel, you can find a butterfly park. The hotel staff told us that we can gently pick up the butterflies which my children did and they were very thrilled. You can also find an aviary. They also showed us how bees made honey. We got really close to the bees, which was rather scary but the staff assured us that the bees will not sting us. They also showed us how they collect pollen from the bees. They sold these pollen at TWD 500 per bottle. They mixed pollen, with honey and water, it tasted quite nice. Overall a very relaxing stay.
