We stay in the hotel without pre book and was lucky enough as they only left one room for the night. The resort was the first in that area and the owner has another two more luxurious resort which is about 1 km away from this resort. The resort is located in a very strategic location which is not far from bus stop, tourist info counter, food court, 7-11 etc.

The resort also help to arrange for different types of local tour at a reasonable price. Their dinner (optional) is a must to try as the salad bar counter has varieties delicious food aside main course. All staff are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Some of the room is facing mountains

It locates near some shops (e.g. 7-11, Carton King...) and restaurants (e.g. Mos Burger, Starbucks...) and we just took about 30 minutes to go back to it by walk after visiting Cingjing Farm, so I may say we had picked the best choice.

As my travel agent made something wrong, I have to seek the accommodation myself. When I communicated by email to the staff, Candy, she responded to me promptly and efficient on booking the room, the day tour and the transfer which made me so secure. She would answer you what you want.

One of the staffs, Tony is a very nice person, he kept smiling every moment and provided good service standard to all the guests. If the boss see this feedback, please give recognition to him.

In a nutshell, if you are seeking a B & B in Cingjing, it is a nice choice.

Overall a nice guest house but the only drawback was that during the very quite night, I can hear every word the two ladies next room talked about. The room was not sound proof at all, or not even act as a barrier to reduce the volume. It was a bit disturbing if you want to have a good night sleep.

Location is good as it is just next to the Small Swiss Garden and also the convenience store, as well as a lot of other small shops in the area.

Room Tip: ask for a room that has a lesser chance to have somebody staying next door (if they are not fully bo...

The staff here are incredible. the young man , always helpful and eager to offer service, the more senior female staff makes sure that the lobby are nicely decorated and cosy. the high tea is super! you can ask it to be serve at abt 10pm if you miss the afternoon session, that's how service oriented they are. and they allow you to dine at their lovely restaurent for lunch with your own food if it's not too crowded. evening when it's full house, it's understandable. the only complain is the hardware. as far as service is concerned, it's good, everything you need is provided. but the loft unit is really very cramped. And it's very near 7-11.

Room Tip: don't take the loft unit for family

We stayed for 1 night and really enjoyed it at the Shangrila Hanging Garden and Resort.

The front desk (Tony) was really helpful with the places to go and booking of local tours.

The location was great, it's walkable to the convenient store and souvenior shops.

It's a beautiful cozy hotel, the only thing I can think of to complaint about was the bed being too soft.

I doubt the owners spent anything to maintain the place since it first opened 18 yrs ago in 1994 ! While the dinning area was nice and cosy, in the rooms some of the wallpapers were peeling; you have ugly wire casing running over the wallpaper; the edges of the bath area are not something you want to look at; and then this one really got my beef: the wooden plank walkway outside the rooms making such loud cranking noises you'll have trouble sleeping whenever someone walks past. And at this resort, I'm so surprised you have people walking past at all kinds of hours - even at 2-3 am when you'd expect 99% to be in bed !

Room Tip: One of the staff told us the place is due to close for 6 months, which sounds like a major overhaul...

We stayed two nights in July, 2012. When we arrived a man at the concierge advised us to have dinner at the resort the first night of our arrival as we are not familiar with the surrounding which was right. Actually I have no idea why it was called a resort since there are not a lot of activity going on there. A young man helped us to take one of our luggage up the rough wooden stairs to our room which was unexpected, I thought we had to carry them ourselves. The our two kids loved the little balcony like upper floor with two little beds. They saw a squirrel in the trees beside the huts. The dinner was delicious and the breakfasts were sufficient though not grand. The young staff were very helpful. We booked a free trip to the nearby Green green pasture for the Sheep show the following day but the lady at the concierge told us there was no record, luckily they arranged a van to pick us up after 30 minutes. The main attractions were nearby as we could walk to the Cing Jing Farm and the Little Swiss. There was even a Starbuck and Mosburger nearby the farm. However we liked the Carton King the most. There was a shop where you can buy souvenirs, you can decorate a postcard and post it, buy carton toys, special biscuits or honey. The restaurant was also very special, all most all things are made of carton, the table, the chairs, cup holders, and the food was tasty too. It was very sunny and hot during the day but very cool at night. It was very funny to see the clouds coming down from the sky to surround us after six o'clock. We sat on the veranda at dinner with candles on the tables which was quite romantic. The view from the veranda was magnificent, strips of white clouds over green mountains and valleys during daytime.

Room Tip: Upper rooms as poor sound insulation.
