Nice place, basic room which was clean and had a sea view. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals are freshly prepared for you and to suit your taste. However it is very close to the busy main road which can be a bit noisy.

We loved Nugasewana, it is a nice, simple, cozy place to relax and enjoy your time in the Tangalle area. Our room was simple but had all we needed, and prices are really fair. The beach in front of the hotel is wonderful, the sea is rough and difficult to bathe in, but it's almost desert. A safer beach for swimming is just 5-10 minutes walk away. Breakfast is very good, the rest of the food could be improved. The garden where the hotel is immersed is so relaxing and makes it a real Eden! The people and service are excellent.
I also recommend Tangalle as a good basis for visiting the nearby parks: we did Uda Walawe and Bundala, plus the whale watching in Mirissa, all of them as day trips.

We spent 3 ace nights here. What a lovely place and the staff are great too! I would highly recommend it. Really good value for money too. I hope to return sometime soon. Great location if you want a quieter experience - plus it close to Palm Paradise beach (a must if your in tangalla).

Tha place is great, with seaview from the rooms at first floor..Unfotunately we arrived a bit late and so we had the last room..on the back, very humid and lots of mosquitos.
Just a 2 minutes walk from the beach (cross the road). Great breakfast and dinner. Nice people too. Enjoy the garden outside (before dawn)

Room Tip: First floor, sea facing!!

Found this place on TA and booked rooms via the Agoda App with discounts. We booked a double standard with AC. Worked out at £28 - 5,500LKR about per night inc breakfast.

The welcome we received was super. We arrived early 1015am and after being offered a welcome Lemonade and a cup of tea from the breakfast buffet we we happy to be shown to our room. Lucky as we thought we'd be to early for the room so nice of them to offer it when it was available. We weren't expecting that.

The staff here are all lovely, seems this attitude is far more common in SL than its neighbour India. Customer Service generally has been very good during our visit/s. They are really friendly and helpful, as is the manager.

The whole place including the Rooms are very clean and tidy. Maybe a little dated (the doors gave me that impression) but nothing to put you off at all. Satellite TV it has but limited channels if that what you want. Maybe a deluxe has more.

We ate an evening meal and as much as we didn't have a bad meal it was just average to be honest. The benchmark is so high in SL with there Rice and Curry master pieces not all are going to be great eh. The meal was fine, poppadoms were a little soft thou. That would be my main issue.

The breakfast (its a buffet style and you can order eggs in various styles) ranks in one of our top two we had during our stay in SL. Variety and portions. Don't suddenly expect a 5 star buffet thou! You know how some travellers might read into my breakfast comment.

The beers are a bit pricey tbh at 375LKR a bottle I thought.

Just wanted to recommend a lovely little local place for an evening Rice and Curry spot. Chanika Restaurant. It's down the road towards Matara about 50m. It may not look like it but for us it was one of our top 5 Rice and Curry dinners. It is a fantastic dinner option. Advance notice required, well 45mins. You won't find it in TA but I hope to add it when I'm back on my laptop.

We planned to stay one night, but ended up staying our entire time in Tangalle at Nugasewana Eden. The rooms are pleasant, clean, and a great value. The hundreds of frolicking and twittering parrots every morning and evening, and the occasional peacock, make for great ambiance. The breakfast is really delightful, and, traveling with children, meant one less stop in our day. Highly recommended.

This is a really great guest house that focuses on the basics of nice clean rooms and good customer service.
We stayed for a week in a non air conditioned room at the front, which was very comfortable. Initially I was concerned about the noise from the main road, but it is set back enough for that not to matter. You do have to cross the road to get to the beach though.
But what a beach! Both the nearest one, and the Tangalla Bay 200m to the East are beautiful and rugged, and we swam at the latter one several times in clear waters. The guest house was handy for visiting Tangalla town, and even closer to the fantastic disability charity Navajeevana which has a shop and visitor centre just nearby. There are also beachside bars and cafes nearby, and at Goyambokka a short tuktuk ride away.
The guest house hosts were very helpful and friendly, the food was good and the rooms were excellent value.
