This Is a beautiful place in tangalle. A small family runs the resort. Good rooms. The best pizza in Sri Lanka!! Very friendly people. Talk good English. If you stay longer you will be like one in the family. The beach is wonderful. Goyambokka beach. Only a few people there. If you like the sound of the birds and nature, this is the place. This is paradise..

Unfortunately the shower was cold and the toilet didnt flush in our room. We didnt have the chance to move rooms as we arrived really late so all we wanted to do was sleep. Shortly after we got in bed the place had a power cut which meant that the fan went off in the room so we were really hot and couldnt sleep. Then the emergency generator kicked in and although we had the fan back, the generator was really noisy so we still couldnt sleep! Eventually they seemed to sort the power cut out and we got some sleep.
The hotel is next to a really quite beach so there are no ammenities nearby.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a hot shower and the toilet flushes!

This is a small family hotel with only four private cabanas with good sized rooms, large verandahs and privacy. The cabanas are old, worn and could use a facelift...but they have everything you need in basic accommodation. They are light and airy and there were no mosquitoes when we were there so we kept all our windows open with the fan on and were comfortable without a/c.

Food is very good, especially Sri Lankan and breakfasts. Pizzas are good as a change. The staff try hard and are keen to help.

The cabanas are a fair value basic Sri Lankan accommodation. Being only a two minute walk from the glorious beach is a real plus. And it is quiet - no thumping disco noise anywhere. And the entire atmosphere is real and not tailored to tourist whims. the grounds are charming and spacious as are the two horses and the well behaved dogs.

We much preferred this place to the westernised foreign owned and managed places around the area - which cost twice as much and seemed to offer a lot of western food.

We would be happy to go again.

The walk to Silent Beach is easy - 10 minutes, but it is for strong and confident swimmers only. However the empty beach invites you to read and snooze under the palms. The closer Goyombokka Beach is easier for swimming and just as lovely. It was nice to have two good beaches so close.

Room Tip: Room 1 is the most private cabana. The new stone cabana is perhaps smaller and a bit hot. The eigh...

We stayed in a room in the block of 8 (4 downstairs and 4 above). Clean and tidy. The hot water didn't work but it was that warm the cool water suited me tbh. Our room came with a fan (remote!!) and you have an outdoor seating area. It's a balcony basically but all rooms have access to yours as its a walkway as well. But as there's doors to the front and rear there's no need to walk across other people's balcony area. Depends what the mind set of your neighbours at the time is I guess!

It's located no more than three mins walk from Goyambokka beach, which we thought was the best of the beach options in Tangalla as its set in a lovely little bay. The only disappointment with the beach is the collection of rubbish at one end of it. It's not all over the beach and is not a big enough reason to avoid here but you'd think that the guys that make a living on this beach would try to keep it clean and tidy.

The price of our room was $35 for a double and that inc breakfast. And on reflection towards the end of our stay we thought that actually our room for the quality and standard it was great value. The breakfast was decent enough. Tea/coffee, fruit or fruit juice, toast with butter and jam, and two eggs in different styles.

This place has a really nice vibe. There's room for improvement thou! This place could be stunning if the grounds around the room block and Cabanas was tended to. Don't get me wrong, it's not got rubbish everywhere it's just with a little (a lot to start) TLC it could be stunning.

We've eaten a good few places during our month stay in SL and my girlfriend has a great amount of experience with the Calamari dish. She says the one here is in the top two for her in taste, not only that but the quantity was one of the best too! Nearly twice as much as other places. I planned to try the pizza on the final night we were staying but you wouldn't believe it the oven wasn't in use that day! So if you want to try a pizza do it while you can.

We had a few dishes here and all were fine. Nothing to go crazy for but nothing to disappoint.

We did witness a couple of people that checked there bill and had errors on. I believe both issues were rectified but it would be wise to keep tabs on things if you're staying a while. I should add that this wasn't the case with our bill. I don't think they're dishonest but when ordering at times it can be a bit like Fawlty Towers. It's quite funny to see, as long as you're not in a rush!

Unrelated to here but a great place to try is out on the main road near the Tangalla Bay hotel (before it on the left if heading towards Tangalla) called Chanika Resturant. It's 100/150lkr in a tuk tuk from here and is worth the visit for their Rice and Curry. It's wise to let them know in advance as it will be cooked fresh and as its a local place run by a young family it would be good to let them know numbers etc so they can visit the market to grab stock. It was 450lkr pp for vegi rice and curry and it was stunning! If you've eaten at Jade Garden in Ella be prepared for a similar standard. These venues are the best two spots for rice and curry! Honestly. I've added this place to Trip Ad so waiting for that to go up to write a review. If you fancy having a go their mobile number is +94 (77) 085 2390 (Sri Lankan)

Cabins and rooms in a large peaceful garden with a many of trees and birds. Two large black Alsatian-type dogs who are friendly but very boisterous. Two horses cropping the grass. Very good restaurant with everything home made. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Bed linen is well laundered. Unfortunately there are no proper cleaning staff so the room is not cleaned during your stay. The bathroom tiles and basin needed a good scrub. We had a broken tap and no plug. Shower was inadequate. Nearest beach and sea were beautiful but spoilt by old tables, beds, umbrellas, scattered chairs and a pile of plastic rubbish. We stayed in a cabana for three nights.

Very spacious wooden cabanas with nice big comfortable beds set amongst lush gardens. We stayed for 3 nights and had breakfast lunch and dinner there which was all freshly prepared and VERY tasty ( and lots of it too - thanks Mama) - even the pizzas were great AND made in their wood fired oven. A relaxed, friendly family run business with low rates relative to the surrounding businesses so would recommend on that basis alone. The place also has a collection of friendly dogs and horses. A short walk down to a lovely beach where you could play in the waves or easily swim with no problems.

Room Tip: The wooden cabanas were half the price of the stone cottage and just as spacious.

We stayed here for two nights in the newly build rooms. Clean and for the first time on new thick matresses.
Garden is beautiful, food is excellent, family is very friendly and the beach is nearby. What else do you want more!?
