Lovely hotel, very welcoming staff, food was excellent, buffet style. It was a lovely village in the jungle, highly recommended!
The rooms were just lovely and very spacious with a fab bathroom and huge shower. The grounds were lovely, there are monkeys hanging around but not intrusive, the hotel certainly appear to have them under control.

In general, Sigiriya is a good base location for visiting the cultural triangle, and with this hotel directly in front of the rock, it is an excellent location for the climb.

It is a pretty large hotel with cottages spread out around some lovely gardens. It was not busy at the time, so it did not feel crowded like some larger hotels. The garden setting and the pool with a view of Sigiriya Rock made it worthwhile.

For some reason, the various online booking sites offered wildly different prices for the same rooms on the same days?? By taking the lower of them, it was a pretty good deal.

The cottage rooms are showing their age, but were clean and relatively nice compared to other similarly-priced places in Sri Lanka. The large, open lobby, bar and restaurant was cool and relaxing after a hot day of sightseeing.

Food was served on a large buffet, so had the typical advantage of several choices, but the typical disadvantage of only average quality.

Service was professional and courteous.

We stayed 2 nights in Sigiriya Village Hotel about a month ago. Still remembering the calming athmosphere and little bungalows, surrounded by beautiful gardens....This hotel is really nice complex and located near Sigiriya Rock, that we also climbed.
We had ayurvedic massage in the hotel, that was relaxing. And afterwards they offered us a cup of herbal tea.
When the night came, we utmost enjoyed our drinks beside the pool outside under the fragnancing araliya-trees....
As I told - it is a little piece of heaven out there!

This is nearly 5 hours drive from Colombo.Nothing much to see on the way apart from the little fresh fruits stall. But the elephant safari and climbing the Sigiriya Rock is fun .
Hotel is in side the jungle and lots of trees around .Swimming pool and the bar is very pleasant to hang around in the evening .Rooms are old but they are nice and specious but the beds are very uncomfortable and hard to sleep on the old thin metres.Breakfast was being served in the nice area but there was not much to eat for foreigners ,this

Room Tip: Please check to see the metres has been changed

There's not much happening in Sigiriya except for lion rock, so it's worth parking off somewhere comfortable as you'll be stuck at your accommodation for most of your stay, unless you plan an excursion. So for backpackers feeling like a bit of a splurge and more of a resort feel, Sigiriya Village Hotel offers a fantastic, lush botanical setting with walking distance to the rock palace. A great place to relax amongst the banyan trees, monkeys and monitor lizards, with a lovely pool overlooked by the rock palace in the distance.

The bungalow rooms are spacious and well appointed - much like you'd expect from a comfy hotel room - with TV, good bathroom, mini fridge and a/c.

Wifi is only available in the communal dining/lounge area and quite slow.

We opted for the inclusive dinner and breakfast option - good food and plenty of it! Buffet dishes offered the chance to try a wide variety of tasty Sri Lankan food (always with Western options for the less adventurous) and dishes changed daily to keep foodies happy.

Staff are friendly and numerous - though had to follow up several times on a few queries.

A very peaceful location to sloth for a few days in rural Sri Lanka.
