There's not a lot of options for food in Sigiriya so we were excited to find this place. Visitors can write on the walls so you can read the messages for food recommendations.

The best Kotthu roti we had at Sri Lanka. You can observe its preparation, as it is done just in front of you. Prices are very mild and the lady who runs the place is very nice.

We went to Chuti for dinner twice and got takeaway lunch once. The family that owns the restaurant is extremely friendly and welcoming. They go out of you way to make you feel comfortable and are happy. The food is fresh and really tasty. Lots of yummy herbs were used in the Kottu Roti and friend rice we tried and it made the meal stand out from many we have had so far in Sri Lanka. It's especially great if you're on a budget - seriously good value for money.

The Chuti restaurant is a small restaurant near the Lion Rock directly on the main street in Sigiriya. The whole family runs the restaurant and they make you feel like at home!

We were there 3 times and tried nearly all the rotis and we loved them. Especially the Kotthu roti is excellent. But you have to try the coconut honey roti, the banana roti, the vegetable roti and the cheese roti as well!!!! Its so authentic and lovely there. Unfortunately we never found any roti restaurant like this later on our travels.
