“Must see”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

This site is within the general Polonnaruwa complex and is a must see if you are going there. It is a very beautiful and wonderful example of ancient craftsmanship. It only takes a few minutes to visit but well worth it.

“A favorite”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

After much temple visiting, it was good to rest under a big tree near the pond. Basically, it's simple- looking but the design was intricately carved from a huge slab of stone. The signs leading up to the pond was just hand-painted so be alert.

Was pissed off by a lady walking around the top part of the pond! Unbelievable.

“Just a pond carved into a lotus shape”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

This is just like a concrete pond that is carved into the shape of the lotus. My husband did not even bother getting out of the van! That's how interesting this entire place is!
