This hotel is in a great location for visiting the ruins of Polonnaruwa. It is right near the bus stop if you are coming by public transport. Rooms are nice and the pool is welcome on hot days. We were leaving very early and were given a breakfast option with the people accepting it expecting little more than coffee and toast. Instead, we had a fabulous breakfast with the 'works' including eggs. It was an appreciated and unexpected service.

The Siyanco is situated in a garden setting just off the main road, but well located to both the town centre and the local sights. The pool is very nice, and the restaurant good. Service was acceptable.

My room was small, but adequate. The bathroom was unusual and not particularly functional. The shower curtains occupied over 50% of the bathroom and it was impossible to keep any part of the floor dry - made worse by the toilet being at the far end. Wifi was not available in the room (but was at reception / bar areas.

Great pool, clear nice water and great to sit around, with drinks served and towels provided.
Hotel restaurant is nice, and the staff were friendly.
Rooms were nice, but not deluxe, I was in a standard room,
Bathroom wasn't spotless, but was ok in terms of cleanliness. You have to walk through the shower to get to the toilet which was interesting!

Room Tip: The rooms by the pool looked lovely, but possibly you would be overlooked?

Being almost across the street from an intercity bus stop made this hotel better than average. It is also pretty much in the center of town and well located for a 15 minute or so walk to the ruins.

Room was old but clean and not shabby. Overall service was acceptable.

We stayed one night in the hotel. The manager is nice, but we had to pay 7500 rs. for one night in a small room with no view.

The staff in general speaks a poor English and we found it a bit difficult to communicate with the waiters in the restaurant, because of their lack of English skills. But in general the staff was nice and they tried their best to make us feel welcome. We enjoyed the pool in the afternoon and lunch buffet.
