Amazing hotel, very relaxing by the beautiful river. Food was great and service was brilliant. Rooms are large with great facilities. Loved this hotel close to local attractions in kandy. The grounds of the hotel and the garden are well kept and lovely to walk around.

A beautiful hotel located about 15 minutes away from the main Kandy city.We reached the hotel at around 4am and was still welcomed well. The staff didn't keep us waiting for any paper work at this odd hour and was directly taken to our rooms. The room was very spacious with a balcony and river view.
It has a nice pool which is 4ft throughout making it ideal for a beginner like me to use the whole pool. But the restaurant on both floors and the lounge, face the pool making it an awkward swim. The water was also a bit too cold!
We had the breakfast buffet from their restaurant which was quite nice. They had a really wide spread including continental and authentic Sri Lankan food to choose from. But the Buffet was open only till 9.30am and the staff started clearing the dishes even without telling us, so we had to hurry and eat the little we could manage on our plates. We had planned to go for a swim before breakfast but since the buffet was cleared so early we couldn't.This being a holiday destination hotel, it would have been ideal if the buffet was open till a little later so that people can sleep in late and still have enough time to enjoy a nice swim and buffet breakfast.
The room that we got was very nice and spacious with a beautiful view of a river but it realllllyyy faaar from the reception and it was a nice long walk to reach it. Moreover there are not enough sign boards helping us find our way. Hence we got lost a couple of times on our way to the reception. We are not complaining as we didn't mind a walk after a heavy meal but for anyone with a walking disability or for older people I wonder if they have alternate arrangements.
Overall a pleasant experience and would recommend this place to friends.

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the reception, restaurant, lounge etc. if you want to avoid the long walk.

This hotel is beautiful, all the communal areas and rooms are really well decorated and maintained - We had a lovely view of the river from the hotel balcony. The bathroom has the best showers we have found in Sri Lanka and the food was excellent (a lot of choice and great flavours). Free wifi is also appreciated. Please note you can't walk to shops etc from the hotel due to the location, but don't let this stop you booking.

This is a very good hotel We visited 3 years ago when it was (I think) the Chaaya Citadel.
This hotel had the best restaurant we found in Sri Lanka (and we visited lots of very good hotels). They had a very nice walk-in cooled area for chilled foods.
Pool was nice, but a bit cool, except for us brave and mad Brits.
The only concern was that the rooms we were in had vents from the bathroom to the outside and, particularly because lights were often on, the bugs came streaming in. Some netting over the vent would have stopped it.
Staff all very smart, professional and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

We really enjoyed our stay here for one night. We stayed in a deluxe room. The hotel is very modern with a great common area with bar and seating overlooking the pool. Our room was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Staff on check in and check out were efficient, professional and friendly. We ate at Café C, the a-la-carte restaurant which was really nice and different to the buffet scenario... plus extremely well priced. The only glitch was on checkout where it took some time for our bags to be collected. It seemed that they may have been a bit short-staffed on the bell desk. All that said we were really happy with this choice of hotel and would definitely stay here in future.
