This is the spot to get a birds eye view of most of Kandy lake & view of the city. There’s a metal gangway overlook perfect for picture taking:) Some vendors selling stuff as many tourists stop by. A moderate size statue of Buddha is across the street.

A short uphill walk takes you to Kandy Viewpoint and it's worth the effort. You can see Kandy laid out before you and gives you a true picture of your surroundings.

We visited this viewpoint late morning when it wouldn’t be so hot. The walk took us around ten minutes to get from the lake to the top. It’s a simple path to follow and the viewpoint wasn’t overcrowded at this time of day. Once at the top the view is very nice and there is also a Buddha statue to view. Locals are situated at the viewpoint selling souvenirs and refreshments too.
