We stayed at Villa Shenandoah for two nights in late March, and would WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend it. Dinuk, his mother, and their staff, are all extremely warm and ready to help anytime. The service is flawless, and the photos are true to life; we stayed in the (spotless) little cottage which is slightly separate from the main house, and it was our own little paradise. Eating meals on the private terrace, with views over the Kandy hills, is one of our favourite memories of Sri Lanka. And the food is incredible! The Sri Lankan breakfast in particular, was the best we had during our whole trip.
It's hard to know, before booking somewhere to stay in Kandy, whether being out of town is going to be an inconvenience; I can say it most certainly is not. Villa Shenandoah is only ten minutes from town in a tuk tuk, and Dinuk is always on hand to organise one for you. Kandy city is great to visit, but we definitely loved staying outside of it, in the fresh air, and with the stunning hill views. Thankyou very much to our hosts - we will certainly be recommending Villa Shenandoah to anyone we can!More
