Kandy is very hilly and this hotel has agreat view ofthe lake in centre of Kandy. Food so good[no hotel in our 3 weeks was any better] we did not eat elswhere. Our very large corner room overlooked the hotel pool and the lake below. We would stay again.

Room Tip: ask for a view of town

Stayed here for a night recently, and was surprised by the great standard of the rooms and amenities offered. We had read previous reviews which suggested that this place was a bit over-the-hill, but were pleasantly surprised at how good the rooms were. The buffet breakfast was quite good too. And with the temple of the tooth just a 15 min amble away, the location is really convenient to explore the town. The pool is worth mentioning - it really is spectacularly located and in itself makes the stay worthwhile.

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and the hotel is clean, central and the staff are very helpful. The food is excellent and plenty of choice both at breakfast and dinner. Rooms are spacious however please remember to keep your balcony door shut due to the monkeys but that just adds to the features of the great hotel.
Would love to return.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the ground floor.

Hotel is nicely located, just 10 min to walk to the temple. Views are also great overthe lake. The pool is refreshing but small after some walk and the breakfast choice is good. The monkeys are noisy and you have to take care of your belongings. The room size are ok, the fan and air conditionning noisy but the decor is interesting and showing some of the country traditions.

Overall, this hotel was comfortable, clean and a relaxing refuge after a day's sightseeing. Overlooking the lake, our room had wrap around flow to ceiling windows, unfortunately we could not leave the curtains open as other rooms could look down into ours and similarly from the pool bar downstairs could look up. But this was not a major issue. The dining was a little average for a hug standard hotel, however.

Room Tip: Overlooking the lake.

Without a shadow of doubt this was one of the best hotels I have stayed in anywhere in the world. Friendly staff, excellent room (818), super food. I cannot find any faults. Stayed two nights and wished we had stayed much longer.

Room Tip: We had room 818 it has two settees and a large comfortable bed. Recommended.

The hotel is located on top of the hill off the lake slightly above the Temple Tooth Relic. Their reception area has been shifted to another end of the building and is more spacious than the old one. There is no sign so you might go to the old reception and end up going to the other end.

Other than that, everything about the hotel is great. Reception is huge. Restaurant is even bigger with a very clean swimming pool on the far end. Part of the restaurant has open seating with some play area for kids with a lawn on top of the building (first floor).

Rooms have good view of the lake. Though you get a balcony, do not open because of the monkeys or at least be careful and do not leave it open.

Overall, a fantastic experience.
