Property and staff very friendly and my family & I had good time there. I have celebrate my wife birthday and we had good time , we were stayed in suite room and it has more space with living room , would recommended to someone stay few day with families , baby cot were provided to my kid and it also in good condition , room were clean and well maintain , worth for money spend

first of all hospitality of the hotel staff is amazing ,rooms especially the bathroom with a bathtub is wonderful ,view from the restaurant is breathtaking ,restaurant manager Mr Malaka goes out of the way in helping hotel guests ,but housekeeping is slow

My wife and myself are nearing the end of a most enjoyable 2 night stay at the Hotel Topaz which - together with its sister property The Tourmaline - is located at the top of a steep hill and enjoys some of the best views in town.
It is a 40 year old property and beginning to show its age (notably the sun beds in the Swimming Pool area which nestles between the two properties) but still has much to recommend. In this regard, the staff - particularly, the front desk and F & B team(s) - are most helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble!
Our stay was on a half-board basis and both the Breakfast & Dinners (which are either on the first or second floors) are served Buffet style. Whilst the Breakfasts are perfectly adequate, I would rate both our Dinners as excellent with a good choice of quality starters, main courses and desserts..
The rooms are bright (very good lighting) and spacious with all the required amenities. The Bed was very comfortable and I was pleased to find a stand alone shower - with plenty of hot water - in the Bathroom. Good WiFi service throughout our stay and the only negative was the old safety deposit box which presented us with some problems and - to my mind - should be replaced sooner rather than later.
All in all, we enjoyed our time at the Topaz Hotel and would have no problem about returning nor recommending this to others.

We made a sudden reservation and visited this place. staff was very helpful to us and specially the front desk staff. They provided us a mountain view room and room was comfortable with many facilities. We had buffet for 3 meals and foods were delicious. Looking forward to stay again in this place. Recommended to couples who want a calm and quite place closer to kandy ona top of a mountain..
