Kandy market is usually crowded and generally noisy but is a great place to get a feel of market shopping 'Sri Lanka style'. As other reviewers have said, never pay the first asking price which will be high. The traders are very used to bargaining and will usually agree to make a substantial 'reduction' in the price. There are two good reasons for visiting this lively place - firstly to pick up some clothing, local foods or household bargains and secondly to get a 'feel' of local life and goods. It is very conveniently located close to other stores and restaurants in this busy town and is well worth exploring for its atmosphere.
