When we first got to this hotel we were blown away it's right up on top of the hill and when you get in the lobby is very grand and nicely decorated, we then when we got into our room which was the kings suite and we were even more impressed it's very big lovely looking room with even better looking views. But, after spending some time in the room it became clear it has run into a bit of disrepair here is what I mean, the tap in main room is v wobbly, wiring taped up, light falling down, lights switch taped up, mosquito net all ripped, lots of ants and bug in the room, stiff door handle, cracked sink base and pots. All minor things but together took the shine off the room a little and could be easily sorted. The food there is well priced but was only average, the staff are very friendly and even sorted us a packed lunch at 6.30 when we left which was actually the best food they did us and very nice. Having said all that I would defiantly stay here again the place is overall very nice.

We stayed 3 nights in Kandy in March. We stayed one night in a normal room, then in the suite. Both rooms were good. The suite was very good and well worth the additional amount. The views from both rooms were amazing – beautiful sunsets and away from any noise.

The suite has a second balcony where we spent several evenings watching the sunset over the valley. The buffet style breakfasts and dinners were very nice. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

We arranged a driver to Sigiriya through the hotel – the rates were better than we had found anywhere else and we had a great day. It was well worth the 2 hour drive.

Interestingly, as something different the suite has a bath only (no shower).

Worth staying if you're looking for a low-key hotel in Kandy.

Traditional decoration, location, views and helpful staff, make this a good place to base yourself on the outskirts of Kandy. The architecture of the place is a wow and a great change from the normal hotels and guest houses. The place is adorned with lots of artifacts and pictures of the past and has a great feel to the place. Had breakfast and evening meals there, both buffet style and both good variety. The WiFi is a bit sketchy but works if you sit in the wonderful foyer.

We had wonderful time for few days. There is nice traditionally decorated place with great location, hotel is very clean with friendly staff. Our room was big and very comfortable, with balcony. But the breakfast was unsubstantial...

the best thing about this place is the location. hidden in the hills on the outskirts of kandy, this lovely place is a bit hard to find without the help of a guide. but once you are there, you are in for a surprise, the hostess Upali was warm in welcoming us with her staff. the rooms are traditionally decorated which reflects the taste of the hosts and I did take a liking to the cleanliness of the place. the dinner was just awesome upali had cooked a great dinner at such short notice.
the best part of the stay was the breakfast! cooked according to our specific requirements we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast.
the staff were very courteous and had a big
smile for what ever help u ask for. very knowledgeable staff with where to go and what time to go around in kandy.

definitely will go back to this place next time I'm in kandy.
