The only downside to Jungle Tide is the last part of the journey. Hopefully the road will soon be repaired and this negative removed. Even witha good road Jungle Tide is someway out of Kandy, this can be a positive or negative depending on wether you like the hustle, bustle, noise and crowds of a large town. Getting away from Kandy into the clean air of Jungle Tide was for us great. We had a taxi van take us to Jungle Tide and then take us next day on a tour. The van managed the road okay. Martin then arranged a tuk-tuk for ther next day (to go to the elephant orphanage) and also to take us to the railway station when we left. The tuk-tuk seemed to cope with the road better than the van. The three evening meals we had were excellent and really good value. However the breakfasts could do with a bit more variety and maybe some fresh fruit. We only used the pool one day, but it was clean and a good size. The surrounding area is being landscaped and grass grown.
