We only stayed one night here but had a great nights sleep. Having originally been placed in a room with quite a few ants they moved us without hesitation to another identical one. It is worth mentioning that we asked about moving upstairs or a bit further from our original room however they said all the rooms were booked up- but there was only one other couple staying??! The room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. As noted in other reviews the room was a little small, however it wasn't a problem to us at all. The food was great and excellent value, lots of attention to detail.
However the driver and car booked for us was shocking. The car was full of ants, the boot leaking so our bags got wet, he stopped for numerous cigarette breaks, didn't know his way even to Colombo and tried to guilt us into giving him a huge tip despite arriving 2 hours later than he said we would!

We found this place from our guide book and by looking at trip advisor reviews. I should say that this place was heavenly after having a bad experience in a place in the city.
we loved pipi s home cooking and it was Rs 700 each .The breakfast was just right for me.Alot of fruits with home made jam (pineapple, passion fruit ,mango) and garden coffee.A breakfast was Rs 500 .
We couldn't finish all the food given as it was in large portions. This was so far the cheapest of both room rates and meals we had to pay in sri lanka.
they mentioned about the 10% service charge on the first email they sent me when confirming the rates.( this is a basic tax you would have to pay throughout sri lanka.)
The hosts are very helpful and even took me to the doctor in the middle of the night . I insisted on paying but sri(pipi s husband ) didn't take any money.
my GPS showed 1 km from this guest house to the city and we didn't mind walking to city as it was through the country side and we loved experiencing it.(20 mins walk )
We loved every bit of the stay here..
The garden was full of different flowers and butterflies and also birds singing in the morning and even could be seen so close to us when having breakfast.
We knew that the rooms were a bit small and we were fine with it.(reviews said so)
We asked for new towels each day and they provided with those.
Some rooms have double beds (a bit higher in price) but definitely worth it as its very rare to find double beds in guesthouses through out sri Lanka.(in the same price range)
we will definitely recommend this place.
This is definitely a place to relax and admire nature.
also if you are taking tuk tuk s you can get one from the road for about Rs 100 as they go empty to town.(the owner gave me this tip, if not they ask for Rs 200 )We took one when we left to the station with alot of baggage.
Would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed in this guesthouse in Kandy and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The house is away from Kandy's dusty bustle, has a lovely green garden with chirping and tweeting birds, with a small verandah to sit and enjoy the fresh quiet. The lady of the house cooks superb food, she and her husband are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are spic and span. A place where you love to be!

The helpful family picked me up from the bus station and upon arrival i felt very comfortable in her guest house. The owner takes good care of her guests and because of that the stay was very pleasant!!

This guest house is simply great: the food, the location (in the forest), the beds, hot showers: everything was good! One minor point: the rooms are quite small. Other than that, it's simply perfect! I can recommend this place to everybody.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was ok. The room was clean enough, but the bathroom could have been more thoroughly cleaned.

The owners are friendly, although there was a bit of a mix up with the end bill which would have resulted in me paying for an extra night and meal had I not noticed the error.

The setting is good with lots of trees around with a troop of monkeys who came very close to the guesthouse during breakfast. The room has no air con which was made it a bit too stifling even though Kandy is cooler than the coastal areas.

It's more like 20-30 mins walk into Kandy town so you will need a tuk tuk.

We stayed three nights at St. Bridget's, the room was very small but clean.
The guesthouse is far from the city, half an hour
walking, or ten minutes and 300 rupees by tuk tuk. Not 15 minutes, like the guesthouse's owner says.

The family that runs the guesthouse seemed very nice at first, but the minute we said we are leaving they weren't nice anymore. In the final bill we were surprised with a 10% service increase for all the food and the sleeping. And because it's far it's comfortable to eat there, you don't have a lot of choice, so they take advantage of that by taking high prices, and add an addition 10% in the end (without telling you). They always tell you the price without adding the 10% service.

Hot water system in the shower exists, but doesn't really work.
It's warmish, but definitely not hot.

In conclusion, there are plenty of other options in Kendy, for cheaper price and better location.
