“Loved the Monkeys!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

We stayed at Nature Walk 2 weeks ago during our holiday tour around Sri Lanka and loved it. Sarath not only made us feel extremely welcome but also helped us organise a 3 day excursion and recommended excellent guest houses in other areas of the island. Jalliya was also very helpful and cooked us one of the best curry and rice dishes we ate during our holiday. Monkeys on the balcony in the morning was the icing on the cake.

We stayed here for 4 nights when we first arrived in Sri Lanka, a driver picked us up from the airport in Colombo for £30 which was a massive relief. The hotel was very welcoming with a fresh melon juice when we arrived and they showed us to our room. We had a balcony facing the hills, it was lovely. They room was spacious and clean with fresh linen every day. The food was great value and the daal curry is definately the best dish. I would highly recommend and would stay again.

Room Tip: We asked for the balcony facing the hills before arriving, ask and they will sort it out for you.

This was a very pleasant surprise. Really affordable and great value for money. Staff are extremely helpful and very friendly (As most Sri-Lankans seem to be)
The spacious rooms are very clean and airconditioned. Ideal place to stay if you want to explore Kandy, not that there is too much to do there. Amazing view of the valley.
I highly recommend staying here

Stayed here for two nights in September. The staff were great very friendly. Breakfast was included which was an added bonus considering the price. Great views and possibility of seeing monkeys swing from the treetops was charming. Room was a good size, no safe provided or tv. Bathroom wasn't the best. Ants in the shower and could hear directly into the next doors bathroom from the grill in between. But would recommend a stay here. Try nearby history restaurant for good selection of food.

Our stay at Nature Walk was very pleasant.
The room had a great view down the valley into Kandy.
The beds were very comfy and the rooms spacious and clean.
The breakfasts are huge and very tasty.
Great location, you will get a little noise between 17:30-19:00 as the Cultural Show is next door. You should go see the show the dancing is amazing.

There's a very good reason why The Nature Walk Resort in Kandy is rated so highly on Hostelworld. Whilst not located directly on Kandy lake, that in no way detracts from what a great spot this is. The view from up the hill is beautiful and apart from the odd honk of a horn you'd be forgiven for thinking you were a lot further away. The monkeys are gorgeous and great entertainment (for those of us who are from continents sans monkeys!). A tuk-tuk/3-wheeler is roughly 150-200LKR to get in to the main part of Kandy town, which in any currency is great value. The service and hospitality on display were great. The only suggestion is to ensure the wi-fi reaches the top floor - but it works perfectly well on the lower floor, so that's not a big issue. Speak to the staff and get them to arrange for you to go next door to the Kandy Lake Club and enjoy the Sri Lankan Dance performance! It was amazingly entertaining and very good value! Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Whilst not an issue, if you want to ensure you can access the wi-fi from your room, the lower level...

Great views from this hotel and a short walk to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and town. More basic facilities than some other places we stayed, but spotlessly clean and great value for money. Would recommend.
