Many thanks to all the staff. We felt here absolutly perfectly and like-home stay. Stylish, new and clean room with absolutely beautiful view was perfectly suited for us.
Regarding to the budhistic temple(s) situated under the hill in Kandy town you could hear the prayers of buddhistic monks. Also you can visit beautiful forest park upper the hill (see on Google maps) with misterious exotic atmosphere. Here you can find many exotic animals and very old giant lianas.
The accomodation services are proffesional and always in time. After their huge and perfect Srí Lankan breakfast you will be full and comfortable. They have friend - taxi driver Saliya, who is not only good and safe driver, but also very good turist guide with helpful tips and well oriented in prices.
So we can really reccomend this accomodation. The staff is very friendly, welcome, polite and proffesional.
I chose this B & B because of its intriguing name, good reviews and location, slightly out of the main city. Our first problem, arriving by car in the drizzle, was to find it, even with GPS, up a very steep narrow concrete road in the lea of the Udawatta Kele Sanctuary. There was no name sign outside and we tried 2 other properties before being finally directed to Beauty Hills Residence. Our next problem was parking inside the secure garage, with just enough room for 2 visitor’s cars, but the steep and narrow road made it rather tricky to get the car in with a few inches to spare. Then we had to negotiate, with our luggage, up steep, unfinished concrete steps, with no handrails, up 4 flights of stairs. But It was well worth the effort because we had 2 clean and well-appointed adjacent rooms with balconies giving spectacular views overlooking the valley below and the distant hills. Beauty Hills Residence has been built into the side of a hill, a small footprint but a tall building, as yet incomplete. There are 5 guest bedrooms here and the Residence, though unfinished, has been open for a year. There is no air conditioning but the ceiling fan was adequate, given the elevation and open sliding windows. There was free WiFi and all the usual facilities.
We did not meet the owner, although he was in residence, but the manager was very friendly and helpful. We were given an excellent breakfast in the kitchen in the morning but, since the Residence does not provide evening meals, we were directed to Bamboo Garden, down the hill towards the city for our dinner. A very happy choice.
Beauty Hills is a comfortable place to stay, even with the few minor irritants as noted, but the location and view fully justify the stay and the cost is very reasonable.
Really great place to stay. The best view we have ever seen from a hotel - outstanding for sure!
Very friendly family like always in Sri Lanka and a very good breakfast in the morning.
Great and fast internet - the best one so far on the island.
The only thing i would say wasn’t perfect was the missing air conditioning. Other than that nothing we missed.
Thanks a lot for this cool place that we could be in.
Being out of and above the noise of the city centre was wonderful, as were the varied morning views. Very friendly people, excellent breakfasts.
Definitely worth being a little more out of town for those balcony views and home cooked Sri Lankan breakfasts! A clean and tidy room, a great shower and super kind and helpful hosts. Would come again for sure!
We stayed as a group of 7 for 2 nights. We had 3 rooms all next to each other. 2 of the rooms had a huge shared balcony where we watched the amazing sunrise from. Rooms are spacious and modern. It is up a steep hill but the hosts can arrange tuk tuk into town which only takes 5-10 mins. Steep hill is worth it for the views. Our hosts were very hard to leave and did everything they could for us. They cooked us a yummy continental and local breakfast.
We traveled as a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) & stayed for 1 night on 31st July 2017. This is a boutique property in Kandy - more of a B&B run by a very warm family - so you feel you are staying at a friend or relative's place.
Location - Quite and scenic. Away from the hustle bustle of the typical touristy areas. You need a car or tuk-tuk to get here initially - you can walk to City Centre (about 15 - 20 minutes scenic walk). Biggest plus is waking up to the amazing sunrise view with hills till your eyes can reach - proof of an awesome stay !!
Check in - Max 5 minutes. They said they could accommodate an early check in if needed.
Room - Large quadraple room in 2nd floor with a very spacious bathroom. The property is just 1 year old, and the room is like a 4 or 5 star hotel. Room was super clean. Amazing view from room with balcony to watch the hills. Balcony is a superb photo op place (my profile pic taken here). Complementary water + Tea/coffee was available.
View - The room that we got had a view of the hills. And the terrace is just a hidden gem here - you can walk up to watch the Sunrise and it is just amazing. We watched the sunrise with a hot cup of special homemade Tea (see pictures). We will never forget the sunrise in Kandy !!
Bathroom - Super clean. A bit small (read like European hotels) but shower place was good. The hot shower was just awesome.
Towels - Clean & fresh.
Bed - Very good. We slept well.
Airconditioning - No aircon - but Kandy weather is cool in the nights, so most places do not have an aircon.
Mosquitoes - Zero mosquitoes (unless you leave windows open for long in the evenings). Do not leave windows open in the night & watch out in daytime as we saw a couple of monkeys around. Staff also informed us ahead to be careful.
Pool - no pool.
Staff - Awesome team. Very friendly. Mrs Ramani (the owner's mom) & the helper Sajeeva were super helpful. Nothing was an issue at all. Sajeeva helped carry the luggage to our room in 2nd floor. Since we went during the Perehara festival, Mrs Ramani (with my wife in the pic) told us to go early to the Temple (to avoid the rush) and gave tips on the Perehara fest too. It helped us during the evening trip out !!
Food - Breakfast was awesome - the spread was fit for a King (see pics). We are vegetarian & they took special care to cook dishes for us & explained about each dish. Mrs. Ramani is an amazing cook & a very warm person. She shared family recipes & makes the best tea in Kandy. They served us tea on the terrace when we went to watch the sunrise at 5.45 AM. When my wife mentioned that her tea was outstanding, she gave us a packet of tea leaves & shared the shop name where we could get it. It was so sweet of her !!
Wifi - They shared us password & it worked. They helped us move the router closer when we said the signal was a bit weak
We were very happy at the end of the 1-night stay. I would love to return to this place with my family.
