The restaurant in this hotel was recommended to me by the host of my hotel. I can only say that the food was delicious, the portions were huge, and the prices are adequate.

This is a good place to have a typical Sri Lankan rice and curry meal for Lunch. Sometimes they will also seve you Curd and treacle after lunch.

This place doesn't look like much but the lunch was great and also very cheap. We had a beef curry and rice which came with a few vegetable side dishes and sambols, and the Friday special which was spiced rice with chicken and veg wrapped in a banana leaf. There was plenty of it and it only cost about 670 rupees for two of us. The place is a real back in time experience and great if you like old fashioned nostalgia rather than all mod cons. I can't say I fancy actually staying there but I'd certainly go back to eat. The service was also faultless.

Really delicious food served by sweet, accommodating staff. No real menu but they just give us whatever is being cooked up. Very cheap prices.

Beware of ordering the egg curry - the egg part is a solitary peeled hard-boiled egg! As it comes with a huge plate of rice, dal, a veg curry, poppadoms, coconut sambal etc it's not as bad as it sounds, but in general it was very cheap so not amazing quality food. I still enjoyed the experience though - it reminded me of similar places in Rajastan in India. There's an old waiter who works tirelessly serving everyone, and you're seated in a basic dining room with plastic tablecloths. I also hope it doesn't ever modernize!
