“Always lively.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

The food maybe so-so - but the best part here is the liveliness of this place - visitors and locals.

“cold bakery stuff”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

Read a lot about this place, but was disappointed with the quality of bakery stuff. Had muffins, chicheen pizaa and chicken patty (which they call pasty). Everything was cold and not good at all. Would not recommend this place.

“Bad service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012

This is the 2nd time we ate in 2 days so we expected better considering we had an ok-ish experience the previous day. Obviously, they can't manage with crowds. This was Saturday in the rain and lots of hungry foreigners and locals trying to get a place. There were many waiters that seemed to be rushing here and there and yet not doing anything. Getting a seat, a menu and getting an order (all in that order) was like waiting for paint to dry. The waiter impatiently gestured to an "available" table only for us to realise that the table was swimming with water from a leak above. Another showed us to another section where we finally sat down. When we placed the first order of an omellete he told us they couldn't do it as it is a breakfast item when this was what I ordered the previous day at 230pm. When I pointed it out to him, he couldn't answer me so I settled on a grilled sausage, eggs and chips which came without the sausage but bacon. My girlfriend asked for rice and curry and he said no chance unless I wanted to have it in the pub upstairs???! She was fed up and just settled for the buns outside from the takeout. When she later asked for scones the waiter gave a blank look. The other table next to us didn't get their cutlery after asking several times so we gave them ours first. Very disappointing as we were hungry after being stuck in traffic. They need to sort out their service staff who don't seem to know the menu or what they're talking about.

“A good place to get a safe, comfortable, tasty meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

We ate in the Bake House once - the food was good quality and the service was attentive. However the highlight for us was the drinks - the vanilla milk shake and iced tea were well above average. It is a clean restaurant, with plenty of space, and though it doesn't look out onto the street, it is very pleasant and quiet. We also purchased some bakery items to take-away and they were delicious.
