stayed in this hotel during my visit in Sri lanka. average hotel. not so good, not so bad...tasty foods, different type of tastes. my wife and my children enjoyed the view and the Kandy town. road is worst and very difficult to find the road.

The hotels we stayed at either side of the Tourmaline were truly outstanding, so this hotel fared less well by comparison. The view was spectacular, food delightful, and staff friendly and helpful. However, it did feel slightly corporate and stuffy with less character than the other hotels we experienced in Sri Lanka.

The only hotel I've stayed at where the lobby (grotty) is worse than the rooms (nice)

Get the rooms an higher floors with the full view - breath taking

The food is so so and the mediocre pool, situated in the next door hotel, a bit of a hassle to get to

The massage, also in the hotel next door (sane owners) is terrible, horrid run down rooms and a masseur who seemed to be making up as he went along

Room Tip: Make sure you ger rooms on the side with the full view

This is one of the older hotels in Kandy. But it is very clean and the rooms has good features . Most places in Kandy can be very loud because the town is located in the bottom of a basin . We stayed there during the Perehera but we didn't here a thing. Breakfast need more improvement . The tradition food needs a table . The staff is extremely helpful.
Price needs to be revised given what they charge what Mahaweli Reach hotel charges and Mahaweli Reach is a far superior hotel .

Room Tip: Ask for 300 rooms .

This was part of a tour of Sri Lanka and we were not disappointed by this beautiful 24 roomed hotel on top of a hill overlooking the city and mountains, the staff were excellent, the food was top class. We had a corner bedroom on the top floor with double panoramic views. the rooms are very well appointed and spacious. You will need to get transport down to the town and sights as not really walking distance unless you are very fit. Well worth a stay!

Room Tip: from what we could see all rooms were excellent

I only stayed for one night and even though I was a single female (not always ideal in SL), I was treated like royalty. From the moment I walked in, I didn't have a reservation, until I checked out, I was happy! The room was lovely and the bed HUGE. The only problem would be the bathroom as the bath was very small and the heavy plastic curtain was bothersim. I had dinner but I was the only guest there! Breakfast was great with many choices. I would definitely reccomend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Lobby Floor are great
